Case of History of Hockey

Someone at my LCS backed out of a case so I stepped up so the owner didn't get stuck with it. Not sure how I feel about the boxes yet. Here is the damage:

Buyback Cards:


PSA/DNA Autos:


Beckett Authenticated Rookies:


Art/Mem Cards:


Looking to trade pretty much anything for art/mem cards from the set or cards from Superlative. Thanks!

I just dont get why they only slab these base rcs as authentic. They could have atleast graded them . Gonna be selling the one box I preordered!

I dig the Yzerman and Plante cards, although I don't like them being encased. What's up with the authenticated rookies? I don't think I'd need Beckett to tell me if a Probert from that year and set is a rookie or not. Those just seem odd to me.

I'm guessing that with those four boxes of the other cards that the Art cards came through in some way, shape, or form. Curious to see what it was...

Difficult to judge each box with the most important card missing.

There are two cards in Leaf Best of, if you posted only one of them how would the product look?

A Victory rookie should not be included in a $200+ product.

Judging by Ebay listings, the art cards are the ones that are hot;

So I bet if people listed their Walking Dead breaks without posting any of the autos, the case would look bad too!!

You need to put these types of cards in the product to offset the costs of a Vezina Rookie, a Bobby Hull Rookie, a Bobby Orr Rookie, a Jacques Plante Rookie, a Terry Sawchuk Rookie, a Maurice Richard Rookie, etc etc.

That is just economics.

If there was a Victory Rookie and box, there certainly was something else in the same box to create value.

The brodeur paint card was just posted and it's a beauty!!! Real nice chase cards.

WOW. Butt hurt much. Would expect more from you. I understand being upset and trying to defend your product. Each release cannot be better than your previous.

The comparison to Leaf Best of Baseball was probably pretty accurate. Obviously, they stuck some low end (Victory) and scrubs in their too to balance their costs. No different from this product. Some collectors will be pretty happy with what they get...others not so much.

Wraith is right but they would have to be some nice art cards to balance out that case - like a Gretzky 1/1 or something equivalent.

Dr. Price, the art/mem cards have been added. I was not leaving them out to make the product look bad; my scanner just stopped working. They have been added. I have been a staunch defender of ITG products for a long time but this one hurt bad. I like the art/mem cards but I fail to see the value. I'm not into cards for resale value but I feel like I paid close to $300 a pack for basically an encased ITG mem card. I like the Jagr, Yzerman, and Plante cards but realistically, I could have bought everything individually for less than the cost of one pack. Superlative was phenomenal and I was expecting this to be great, too, but I feel I would have done significantly better buying two boxes of almost any sub $100 box of ITG. Not to sound harsh but this "labor of love" may have made me lose my love for collecting.
