Wow, that's insane. I'd never think about buying a case of the cup (WAY out of my price range!), but that's much more affordable than the $3300 my LCS has cases for.

I think it was just plain dirty greed that had the retailers set the initial price of the cup so high- it was readily available for $350-$400 for every year previously, no reason for anyone to need to purchase it at $500 plus. I resisted because I refused to pay such a high price, and the patience has paid off by saving me thousands of dollars. You decide what you are comfortable paying and stick to your rules, then no one can be blamed. Eventually, when they realized they couldn't sell anything, they were forced to drop prices- dont be a sucker to all the market manipulation.

Customs/duty charges on an item of that value would be killer - this method sounds good in theory but IF Customs decided to have some fun the buyer in Canada would get the ziggy good and hard.

In Canada we would just have to pay the HST of 13%. No duty because the cards are manufactured in North America. HST on $2200.00 USD would be $296.00. Still way cheaper than $3000 a case in Canada. Dave and Adam's Sale price shows how much a case is Wholesale to buy. I have heard dealers pay $269 a box or around $1650 or $1700 a 6 box case. Plain simple green on dealers part.
