Default The Cup Crosby rookie 88/99, here we go again...

Alright guys what's going on with these cards? I just started comparing the ones listed on the bay to what ebaygomaz has posted and here's another that doesn't match. This one is actually graded by Beckett and they appear to have identical autographs this time:

05/06 The Cup Crosby 88/99 on ebay

and ebaygomaz's pic:

They are the same card, notice they are both numbered 88/99. It looks like ebaygomaz has cropped the beckett grade out and looks like a regular card that hasn't been graded.

Typical type of scam. Buy a high end card with a plain jersey swatch, replace swatch with multi-colored patch. Send card in to be graded (note that a grading a card does not authenticate jersey swatches, patches, etc.) to increase buyer confidence, then resell...

Send the link to the bucket. He will know he is busted and end his auction.

I'm not going to bother saying anything to the guy. I'm not trying to cause any trouble, just thought I'd point out the obvious as I'm searching through some high-end ARPs on the bay.

I'm actually making my own collection (like ebaygomaz) of the ARPs sold on the bay for future reference. On a side note, since The Cup just came out, how is this card known to be fake:

Fake Kane ARP

Obviously, the patch looks too good to be true...

I've also seen the listing for this card end early and suddenly appear for sale a few days later by another member "lanalove30":

Fake Kane ARP?

I can't tell if this card is also numbered 86/99, but I think something is going on with this card as well.

Hell I will do it again. I hate it when people complain about something but yet don't do anything about it.

One has blue foil and the other has gold foil, unless it is a scanner problem.

You really think it would be difficult? I have never tried, but I don't think it would be too hard.

Yeah, I just saw that it has ended. What are these people to do with their cards when they find out something like this has happened? I'm sure they'll find a way to unload them to some unsuspecting collector...

I told the guy either he bought it re-patched or someone else did. I sent him the link to the card and this was the response I got. Now if you look at the cards, you will notice the signature is the same. Don't believe me, look at the "7", there is a little smudge or something in it.

Hi
The card is graded by BGS and if yo go on the site
you see the signature is not the same so you say
i signed the card to hahaha...

Obviously he didn't notice the "7" in the signature. Good eye! Initially I didn't either! The reason I don't want to send a message to sellers about fake cards is that you never know what someone might do to try to get back at you. I just don't think it's worth the chance...

I didn't use my regular account. I created one last time when I blasted the guy selling that re-patched A.O. So I used that one again.

Hahaha, I got EXACTLY the same response from the seller when I question the authenticity of the card. I took a photoshop course a couple of years ago and still have it installed on my home PC. If you lay one picture over the top of ther other and lower the opacity of the top layer, you will see it clear as day, the signatures are mirror images of each other.

Glad to see the auction ended early, but it makes me wonder if the card will just be sold off of ebay. Kinda suprising too, that BGS didn't pick up the card being altered. If he honestly bought the card and had it graded himself, I would be all over BGS as they are supposed to be the industry standard and should be catching things like this.
