Redemption is "Depleted"

Hey guys...

I got a Carey Price Redemption in a pack of artifacts...and i punched it up in the computer and all...but it says the inventory is depleted. So i called and the guy told me there is nothing they can do for me to get that card. Also told me that soon, we will be able to pick out our own Redemption replacements online...so in the meantime i cant get my card. Is there a way around this? are they known to give in when a customer gets mad? any ideas???

how in the hell can UD be out of redemptions from a product that was just released not even one year ago and has serial numbered RCs? where did they go........ UPPER DECK is just friggin PATHETIC, they are so horrible is defies description. At least TWO more years of hockey card hell.............

UD (known as Sucker Deck to many of us) was given a 5 yr exclusive contract in 2005 (runs till 2010 I believe) to produce hockey cards. No one but UD produces licensed NHL hockey card products. The Fleer, OPC & BAP stuff you see is still all produced by those bastards at UD. They are just killing the marketplace with horrible collation, over production, the WORST customer service & redemption program (see above) in the industry and lack of value in almost every hockey product they produce. I have been doing this for nearly 20 years and I have seen UD drive people away in droves from collecting hockey cards since they hoodwinked the NHLPA into giving them the lone card license. It is really sad.

The last thing you want now is Topps getting into hockey and them screwing up hockey the way they are botching up baseball. You think UD overproduces? Wait till Topps gets involved! Topps is also infamous for bad collation as well. Grant it, UD jacks a lot of things up, but in the last year Topps has easily caught them as far as errors (Triple Threads, Bowman Chrome, etc)....the one thing I do like about UD only being allowed to do hockey is that the market is not flooded with 2 or 3 hockey releases every week the way football is.

well iv noticed even in the beckett, that since 05 everything seems easier to find...not so many different cards and brands. I gotta be quite honest, i dont think i ever went out of my way to collect anything other than upper deck when i was a kid.

Lets hope that after 2010, some competition comes in and gives them a run for their money. I think having competition is great, makes everyone more aware and usually forces the producers to try to win the customers with their customer service. I think that a company with great customer service would win over alot of people.

Solt- from what I have seen and heard Topps has headed south as well, so your points bear merit. My choice and the pick of many others would be for the NHLPA to give In the Game a license to do NHL products, now that would be exciting and pump some enthusiasum back into the hockey card marketplace.

nowadays unless i really want the card, i post redemptions on-line and let someone else deal with the headache of getting the card. the only ones that i'm pretty sure that you'll get (although it may take some time) are their spokespeople (Crosby, Gretzky, etc.)

I'm not a hockey fan by any means, but could you imagine a product like Topps Sterling Hockey? For arguments sake, 20 or so big names and a handfull of up and comer rookies w/ crazy auto cards, foldouts, hockey stick names etc... that would be wicked cool.

that would be pretty sweet but for me it would all depend on serial numbered, on card auto, and price. i would probably play opc premier price for it but not the cup price
