Im just wondering if any Canadians buy boxes/cases from Blowout? Im debating it, but dont wanna get hit with the duties...anyone know how much duty would be for a box?

Any info is appreciated.

Yes it would be expensive, it's the amount used to calculate duty on your goods, and it is generally based on the price you paid for the goods. The higher the value, weight, length of package the more tax you'll pay. Broker fees and provincial tax are what you pay but sometimes you could get hit also with the GST. Bottom line Crosby and to all those Canadians on here you will be paying much much more for your cases or boxes if you buy from the States than Canada. Unless.........................

It depends on the shipping company used. I haven't imported cases of hockey cards, but I have imported other large boxed items (sometimes 2ft x 1.5ft x 1.5ft). From my experience, USPS is your best bet because there's a good chance your box will make it through customs without any duty fees. I'd say only about 15%-20% of the packages imported get charged duty fees. They obviously don't have time to inspect and record the fees for every imported item. As for the duty fees, it's $5 handling fee plus GST and PST sales taxes for your province calculated based on the declared value of the package. I wouldn't go with FedEx or UPS because there is no chance those packages will escape duty fees and those companies also have brokerage fees that usually aren't even reasonable. Hope that helps.

alright then. I actually found a place in Montreal that have slightly better prices than BO and i dont have to worry about duty fees and such. Also free express delivery as long as i order before 4, I get the box/case the next day by noon. Thanks for the info guys
