Since I'm between DC and Pitts, I can watch the games and that was one of the weirdest things I've seen in years!

I've played in Lake Placid on both the practice rink and the 1980 Olympic rink. That was probably the best sheet of ice I've ever skated on. I play a few games a year at the St. Pete Times Forum (Tampa Bay Lightning). I've never been apart of an NHL game but I've played with a lot of NHL'ers.....retired of course. I play with Jonny Murray(NHL Linesman) occasionally when he is in town.

I would have been a Fredericton Canadien if I had signed the contract offered out of high school but opted for college, figuring a free college education was worth more than $18,000 a year playing minor league hockey with a slim chance, if any, of making it to the NHL as a pest.
It worked out pretty well, but I wonder if I had a shot to wear the Blanc, Bleu & Rouge the way my father and grandfather did. For the record my Dad suited up for Montreal but didn't play in his two game stint, and after three years of minor league hockey he joined the Army. My grandfather might have had a decent NHL career if he didn't join the Army during World War 2. As for me, I didn't have the talent to be anything other than a pest, a Matthew Barnaby/Jordin Tootoo type pest, but not nearly at that level.
