Wonder if that means a blockbuster deal for Evgeni Malkin will be in the works if the Pens fall further this year, they can't afford Geno now. Can they?

If anything they will trade Staal away. I think teams would be more willing to deal for him now that he is not going to face restricted FA after the season.

Yeah so how are you going to pay for Malkin? If you do, you have the Tampa problem, if you don't Malkin goes elsewhere.

He will be fired today or in the next few weeks if the Penguins keep losing. The current GM Ray Shero only kept him becuase the players were performing well after Craig Patrick's contract expired. He is not the coach that Ray Shero wanted behnd the bench when he joined the Penguins.

This could be interesting...

The Hockey News: Ken Campbell's blog: THN.com Blog: Jagr says return to Penguins not out of the question

Not sure how I would feel about him coming back...but at this point...it couldn't hurt.

Jagr should play on Washington again. There was no hope back when he was there last time, but now there is a ton of offense on that team.
