Heard about this just a minute ago on CNN. Crazy. Does anyone know the circumstance? I mean, he was 27 after all. Is there such a thing as "natural causes" at that age?
*Nevermind. I read a bit elsewhere and I think I understand what may have happened* RIP

Here's a brief back-story on Rypien, some of it is more known than other parts.
When he first joined the Canucks 3-4 years ago he had an addiction to painkillers, that he claimed and battled he got through. (*This part I was told by the Canucks main beat reporter Kristen Reid) After he got suspened in Minnesota for attacking a fan he was in the Vancouver press-box watching a game at home, when he drove home wasted and hit a girl. I know he lost his license and I've heard the girl didn't die but was in critical condition.. The Canucks organization liked Rypien a lot (as Did I as a Canucks fan) so he went off to re-hab again, and joined up with the Farm team the Manitoba Moose later in the season... I guess this was just the last straw.
