Default Happy Trade Deadline Day!

Pretty quiet so far. And certainly no huge deals yet.

More so, is it me or did Columbus give up too much for Antoine Vermette? Am I missing something. Pascal LeClaire and a 2nd rd pick?

Flo- obviously they think they (CBJ) are set in net for the next decade- and maybe they are.......I personally like Vermette- he is the kind of player you need to have who wins the individual battles to go deep into April and May. The pick is all I would scratch my head about...........

Yeah, with Mason playing so well, I would have to think they would be all set for some time, too. I think Vermette is a decent player, but I think when Pascal's ankle gets better, Ottawa will have the better end of the deal. It would have been fair if no draft pick is involved. Ottawa made out like a bandit.

So to make a long story short, I agree with you

As a Sabres fan I have received 1 piece of good news, and 2 pieces of bad news. The good news is Tim Connolly was re-signed for 2 years.

Bad news is that the Sabres now have to face 3 outstanding goalies within their division in LeClaire, Thomas, and Price, and we traded for Mikael Tellqvist, meaning Ryan Miller is most likely done for the season.

FINALLY, a huge trade!

Calgary gets Olli Jokinen from Pheonix for Matthew Lombardi, Brandon Prust, and a 1st Rd pick.

Calgary is making their run at the Cup, watch out San Jose and Detroit!

I think too the Sabres are done for this year without a healthy Miller.

Sorry man, I have TSN's trade tracker open and I couldn't wait for this one! This makes me happy being a fan of the Flames as well.

Good for Olli, I bet he's happy to be on team that hasn't fallen into obscurity.

Jokinen is starting to become a journey man. He'll stay in Calgary for the rest of this season and go play for someone else the start of next season.

According to GM Regier, Miller will be back this season. It might be a line of BS though.

I really want the Sabres to trade for Bouwmeester, but that probably won't happen. Although Florida has been quiet, they were up in the air about being buyers or sellers. Maybe they won't be anything.

Recchi to the Bruins - nice... could be his last hurrah..........

at least from a card perspective all these fish RCs UD crams into and dilutes their high end hky products with (Trilogy, SPGU, the Cup etc) you now on trade day get to see their names again as throw ins to deals to fill out the teams minor league rosters..........

Billy Guerin is heading to the Pens. Wasn't happy at first, but it look like it was for a conditional draft pick, so I'm ok with that

Well today was a lot slower than I had anticipated. I was really looking forward to some blockbuster deals.

Not thrilled with the Pens moves, reserve D men and Guerin. But I can live with them not giving up anything big.

Thoughts on your teams moves?
