Default HELP! Not Sure What To Buy?

I have been buying football boxes now for a few years, but am getting bored with it. I noticed Blowoutcards has a lot of very nicely priced Hockey boxes also. So I thought I would try something new, the problem is I am not too familiar with Hockey. What is a good year to try, possible RC pulls (etc...). Any help would be appreciated.

Depends on how much coin you are looking to drop, but a lot of the 07/08 has been very good to me. Ice, SPA, UD Series 1 & 2 or Black Diamond. Really good crop of rookies with Price, Backstrom, Kane, Toews & some guys just coming on strong like Bobby Ryan & Devon Setougouchi.

I have to agree. 07-08 has some pretty strong rookies in it. You can never go wrong with Upper Deck Series 1, although Series 2 isn't bad either. There are nice Young Guns in both series. Plus, you don't really have to worry about chipped cards, like you would with Black Diamond.

07/08. Price, Kane, Toews, Backstrom, Gagner, Setoguchi, Bobby Ryan are all good to pull.
Ive never had a problem with chipped cards in Black Diamond, but Series 1 I have. I pulled 2 YGs that were chipped all around. (Perron and Mancari)

I would go with 07/08 even if 05/06 was Crosby, Ovechkin, Lunqvuist (if thats how you spell it), Phaneuf, etc.

Guys what do you think about 2007-08 Sp Authentic Hockey..
with some of the left over stuff from 2005-06 included-

Back when this stuff came out I watched a guy at a show pull at least 2-4 money cards per case(Either Crosby or Ovechkin, Gordie Howe)--

I to am new to hockey cards per se and other than some UW Badgers (Bourque, Pavelski, Burish, Earl, Winchester, and Suter) I am more interested in the Young Stars(Ovechkin, Malkin, Crosby) instead of the actual RC's for a particular year

Can wait to get my 2008-09 SP Game Used Ovechkin, Malkin, Kovalchuk Auto /10 redeemed and in hand

The 2 Best new Products I see this year are UD Black and Trilogy
