Default Griswold/Rinkwraith Entry #1 contest

Okay, Clark, it's time to fire it up. Let 'er rip.......

Contest #1. Winner gains one entry to the main page of winners. All entries will be randomed by random.org to determine the #1 spot (winner). Limit one entry per person.

So Clark has had his fair share of good presents and bad presents during the holidays. He especially recalls one really bad present he got one year...a year subscription to the jelly of the month club. So now he wonders;

1) Tell me about your worst ever Christmas present you received

That's right, just tell me all about it and you'll be entered into the contest for this entry. Need more motivation? Added to the prize list today was another great hockey product;

1 box of 10/11 Famous Fabrics Hockey Ink

Yet another great product and great autograph going under someone's tree this year.

Good luck everyone!!!

Deadline for entries for this contest will be Friday 12/2 at 8:00pm

The worst Christmas present I ever received was from one of my co-workers. He gave me an entire hunting outfit. Camo pants, a bright orange vest and a bright orange hat. The kicker?

I DON'T HUNT!

Thanks for the contest!

My worst present was actually a pretty good gift, but my ineptitude turned it into a disaster. When I was 11 years old my dad got be a bitchin' swiss army knife for christmas. Despite my parents' continued warnings not to use it until they had taught me a few ground rules, I wielded my blade to slice open the wrapper on a board game we had received. Instead of slicing away from my body, I brought the incredibly sharp knife towards myself. The smoothness with which the blade moved caught me off guard, and before I knew it, I had cut a giant hole in the webbing between my thumb and ring finger on the hand I was using to steady the box. It was bad enough to warrant a trip to the ER, so I covered my bloody hand with an old dish towel. When I was about to be treated at the hospital, I had to wash the blood away and for the first time I had a clean look at my laceration. Here's a visual for you (staying on the Christmas Vacation kick): The inside of my hand looked hauntingly like the inside of the dry turkey that the Griswold clan has for Christmas dinner. When I saw this I passed out, but luckily a hefty nurse was there to catch me and help avoid head trauma. 8 stitches later, I was back home finally.

Oh yeah then I drank rotten milk through a crazy straw by accident trying to unclog it. Great Christmas.

My wife got me a sweater that was two sizes too small for me. When I mentioned it, she said I used to be that size and I should try to get back there.

Not realizing she was joking and that she had gotten the wrong size, I replied "you used to be hot too!"

Well that flew like a lead balloon and I slept on the couch for a few days.

The worse Christmas present I ever got had to be when I was 11 years old. My dear loving aunt wanted to be the cool person of the family to get me some "hip" clothes, well when I opened my eyes, it was like looking into the sun, bright orange stripes, outlined by every other color of the rainbow shirt/hoodie type configuration such as this:

thinner stripes, many more colors, much more ugly. To my surprise, not only did she have to get me this shirt, we also had to get the pants to match it. Sadly, regular jeans were out of the question, why would you stop at gaudy when you can go completely atrocious right? If you haven't guessed it by now, Orange and black jeans "gangsta" style

So I'm an 11 year old white kid who is at this time 6'3", how the hell do I not stand out in this outfit, and how do I get away with not wearing this...sigh, if I can find it in time, I will post a picture of me in the outfit, my other aunt who is only 12 years old than me took many photos while laughing at how ridiculous I looked.

I was the Halloween version of where's Waldo, learned my lesson, every year since I am very specific that I just need socks for Christmas.

Worst gift i ever recieved was a package of female underwear and a fluffy toilet seat. My parents mislabeled a few presents and I was about 10 at the time and opened up little girls underwear and a fluffy toilet seat as my first two presents. Thought that was enough to ruin my whole day until I got my gameboy color and my grandparents moved it after I had opened it up and told me I must have thrown it away. I dug through the trash for 10 minutes before they told me it was in their room.

My worst christmas present ever was one i got when i was 11 years old. We were not a wealthy family by any means, infact we were barely above the poverty level. We got help from the salvation army for our gifts. So here i am 11 years old and its about December 20th or so and my mom runs to me and says "hurry Lee, you get to open a christmas present early". I was so excited for a minute, then my mom picks out the gift for me to open. So she tosses me this small round gift, and the next words out of here mouth were "hurry your dad has diarrhrea" so i hurry and open my gift to find out i got a roll of toilet paper, and yea my dad got to use it first.

Oh, this is easy. My father's ashes when I was 12. He died on the 21st, and I ended up with his cremated corpse in my hands on the 24th. Now that was a good Christmas.

One time I received a popcorn rock. It's exactly what it sounds like...just a rock that you put water on and it grows "popcorn". Not edible popcorn, but more like a fungus. It was simply a rock in a plastic bag. To make matters worse, I received the same thing the year after, from the same person. She apparently either forgot that she gave it to me the year before, or had a stockpile hidden away and just dipped back into that supply.

I know some of the others are much better, but when I was 15 my aunt gave me the second or third Backstreet Boys CD. She seriously thought that I would like it because I enjoy singing / music.

The worst part? My mom f'ing loved the BSBs. We would seriously listen to that CD every day until it was "accidentally" dropped out of the car by my father.

Some GFs have given me bad presents as well.... but nothing life altering like having the Backstreet Boys stuck in your head 24/7

Alright, I think my gift has a chance. I got a bright a$$ pink sweater and yellow pants from my aunt when I was 15. She thought I liked bright clothing so decided to get me that instead of giving me money for a car or something.

Here's the kicker though. My aunt was a teacher at my high school. My mother thought it would be "cute" if I wore it to school that day (what I mean is, she forced me to wear it ). I'll let you figure out the rest of the story. Let's just say that bright-a$$ pink sweater got a little red stain at the end of the day.

I usually get clothes for Christmas...it isn't a bad gift, unless you consider the health hazards, but I got a carton of Marlboro Reds and a case of 12 Monster Energy Drinks...

I'm Jewish, so don't celebrate Christmas. I'll just think of Birthday or Chanukah.

That worst present I ever got is my annual "ugly sweater" from my aunt. She usually gives me a range of stuff, but I can count on one hideous sweater every year that I will never wear. I appreciate the thoughts though, and am just glad she gets me anything.

Worst present ever would be the time my grandparents got me some new bed sheets (i was somewhere between 7-11 years old) and they definitely had flowers on them, nice pastel colored as well.

Seriously, I'm a boy, I like dirt, and you got me some nice flowered sheets. Good thing I loved my grandparents but c'mon man.

I have also received gifts like a desk lamp, a mini shovel, different school supplies from another grandmother.... it's like she shops the discount aisle at the Dollar General for all of the presents.
