Time for Boston to do the Dougie!

And a Pens fan rooting for injuries....it doesn't get any more typical than that!

The big difference "we" won't use the injuries as an excuse unlike some of the other teams fans. By the way the Bruins have been there before (key injuries) and I think we all know what happened!

Bruins will not bring Hamilton up, he is far to 'raw' at this point to play in the NHL, he has plenty of time to prepare for the big time. I would think Bodnarchuk would get the call, big physical kid.

No timetable for Sidney Crosby's return

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He has some more recurring symptons and although it was not diagnosed as a concussion, there is no timetable for his return. He passed his impact test but there are still symptoms there, so I would assume it's safe to say we will not see Sidney Crosby on the ice for a long time again. It's a shame but this may be the beginning of the end to a short but stellar career

Not good for hockey, even worse for Crosby.

No Pronger, Lilja, Schenn, Giroux, maybe Bryz.......oh well it's more of the same for the Flyers and their fans. We're used to being shorthanded going all the way back to '75-'76 and being denied a three-peat without Bernie Parent in the Finals against the Habs, or '86-'87 taking the Oilers dynasty a full 7 games in the Finals without our top two scorers, or losing a series to the Pens a few years ago without our top 2 lines of defensemen. Injuries are part of the game and the Flyers get more then their share and usually at the worst times.

No big deal as long as Giroux's isn't that serious, it's only December. They've been playing a lot of rookies all year so what's a few more and they haven't had Pronger for most of the past two seasons. The Flyers will still be in playoffs and hopefully at full strength then when it matters most.

The best thing for the Pens to do now is to move on without anticipation of Crosby returning and build their team accordingly. That would start with moving Paul Martin and his 5 million dollar contract and picking up another forward for the same amount of coin. Simon Despres is more than capable of taking Martin's place as is Lovejoy.

Bryz is fine but Giroux it seems is iffy. Not practicing today or playing tomorrow means they aren't sure and are waiting to see if he gets any symptoms.

Don't believe everything you hear from those bozos doing sports radio. I like Homer but he lies a lot to the media so you don't know what is and isn't true. Pronger's "virus" turns out to be a concussion. Imagine that.

After watching Lindros and wondering after every hit if would he take his next shift I wonder if Crosby is in the same boat.

His trade value is probably non existent right now but if there comes a time where there is any kind of decent market for Sid I'd trade him to the highest bidder. Pens still have enough of a line-up to win games by moving Staal up. I could see a Canadian team like the Sens, Flames or Leafs doing something stupid to bring the Golden Boy back across the border. I'd take a proven player or two along with a few high draft picks for what looks like a big question mark every time he gets hit in Sid.

Even when he does come back, all it will take to put him out is a legal hard check against the boards and come playoff time, players will take any chance they get to get the advantage or increase their chances of winning.

Victor Hedman and Dave Steckel are hardly scrubs. Neither hit was overtly dirty. What the press is missing is that this concussion was so bad because of second impact syndrome.

While recovering from the first concussion (was never diagnosed) he absorbed a second one.

I lived through it last year getting rear-ended twice in three weeks. Fortunately my career doesn't require the kind of hand-eye coordination Crosby has. I am 10 years older and have four concussions prior under my belt. It has been 11 months and I'm still not right.

Just some food for thought. I'm pulling real hard for the kid. There is no other player that can get the coliseum in a blind rage like Crosby, and I hope he returns when he is ready.

I said it back when he first went out, the Pens really screwed the pooch by playing him so soon after the Classic. I don't think the Steckel hit would have had much of an impact if they sat him for a couple weeks to clear his head up. Even if he said he felt fine and insisted on playing, you as an organization shouldn't risk it and need to be overly protective. They have to be kicking themselves for this mess.

When it involves joking about trying to hurt someone, no. That's not trash talking, that's lacking class and human decency.

So with me saying "I'll make sure Zach Rinaldo gets the message" that's lacking class?

I clearly don't know Zach Rinaldo.
