Sean Avery might be the pickup of the year if he continues his strong play. I don't see the Pens winning today's game. Philly is playing with a tremendous sense of urgency and leaving it all out there today. The next game is the one the Pens can steal because the Flyers might come out without all this energy.

Rangers have a great PK and their goaltending is fantastic right now. But how long before they go into one of their offensive funks where they average less than 2 goals a game for a week?

I agree, screw the East. Anyone else see a Hawks-Wings Western Conference Championship? I love the Hawks, but they'll probably lose that series in 6

SJ going to choke again. The Ducks are looking strong as of late, the might give the Wings a run for their money in the next round.

I don't think anyone wanted to play the Ducks in the first round because even if you advance, it will take its toll. San Jose got no break for winning the conference.

Who said Rangers - Wings would be interesting ? What are you smokin' ? That would be over in 4 games unless Lundqvist stole one in NY. Lundqvist is standing on his head in this series. Plus the Rangers still have no offense. Jose Theodore cost the Caps game 1 all on his own. If the Caps win the next game and get a decent game in goal, I can easily see them coming back in this series. Lundqvist is the reason Philly opened up in Pittsburgh. He has been in the zone.

How good is Claude Giroux's future looking in this league ! Those weren't exactly stiffs (Gonchar, LeTang and Guerin) he made look silly today shorthanded. Flyers have to play hard every game because as you saw today, they are not a bunch of junior players. I don't understand why it is so hard for them to play with intensity from one game or even one period sometimes, to the next ? Hopefully they come out with the same intesity for 60 minutes Tuesday and make this a best of 3. BTW the officiating was a joke again today and at least McGuire and Milbury had the sacks to say something on national tv.

Jonathan Cheechoo with a huge goal to answer for the Sharks. Just 37 seconds after the Sharks fell down 3-1, he scored a great goal to make it a 3-2 game. San Jose is still in a bit of trouble as they're losing with just 6:06 left, on home ice, and already down 1-0 in the series. Good finish shaping up to this game...

The Ducks prevail and will head home up 2-0. Jonas Hiller has been the MVP of the playoffs so far. If the Ducks keep winning and somehow find a way to win the Cup (not saying it's likely, but it's plausible), he's gotta be the front runner for the Connie. It would be ridiculous to have TWO goalies on one team with Connies.

Joe Thornton is the ARod of the NHL. When a team signs Roenick last year and Claude Lemiux this year (unbelievable), what does that tell you about a team just reaching for some leadership.

Sucks for me that Hiller has taken over in Anaheim. I was hoping to see him in between the pipes in Philly next year. Maybe we get Giggy wit' it instead.

The Rangers Wings would be great for ratings but I doubt the Rangers can make it. Wings should be a lock unless a team gets hot vs them or Osgood plays like he has during the regular season....but so far so good.

I wouldn't call the Wings or any defending NHL champ a lock because it is hard to repeat in the NHL. The playoffs are long and grueling like no other sport so anything can happen along the way. Wings have a great shot to repeat against anyone in the East BUT they have to get out of the West first.

Ohh so very true. Ozzy is clutch in the playoffs. Eventually alot of people and media will learn to not knock him or question him because he has the numbers and rings to back up his playoff ability. He has been outstanding so far in this 2 1/3 games played so far (looks great so far too through the first)

Luongo is very hot right now, but hasn't played an offensive threat like ours. And he will be handling another 15-20 shots more per game as well.
