Yep...turn the lights out! Thanks Tom Poti. That's a shame the ref blew the call on the interference when the Caps were in the Pens zone.

What did they miss? They swallowed the whistles pretty much the entire game.

The video feed I'm watching just went back and replayed the goal. That would have been one of the weakest interference calls in the history of hockey. More incidental contact due to both of them skating into eachother. Or it could have been a make up call for the no call with Ovie tripping Scuds.

Tough break for the Caps on the goal. Not exactly the way I wanted to see it end, but if the puck gets through, Crosby probably would have buried it.

I guess scoring 2 goals, 1 assist and Pitt getting a lucky bounce is karma?

you guys are pathetic arguing ref stuff. I hope both Pitt/Wash both manage to lose this series

No arguments here. I thought the refs did a great job tonight. That is pretty much the way I feel playoff hockey should be officiated.

As much as I like GoGo and Tanger as offensive D men...that combination scares the hell out of me when they are together on the PP. I thought they were going to give up a shorthanded chance there in OT when they were tossing the puck back and forth.

Then who would the Hurricanes play then? Guess they would have to play with themselves!

I do believe so. Although if I was BB, I wouldn't play him. I don't see him doing anything to help them win this series. Their forwards are playing about as well as they can, and he would be taking away from that with his lack of offensive ability.

They called tripping in overtime, that's fine. Make the same call on the other end when it happens. Sorry the Caps player didn't embelish the trip the way Malkin did. How did no one else see that? I guess the Caps need to take some diving lessons from Mr. Crosby... and at some point the crap they are doing to Varlamov has to be addressed.

What about the obvious interference and tripping in Game 2 off the face off when Ovechkin blistered that shot by Fleury that cost the Pens that game? Was that a dive? I suppose that was ok? Don't bring these sour grapes on the calls because the ref's have missed an equal amount of calls on both teams. If the Pens win, all were going to hear from you haters is "Bettman wants the Pens to move on, the refs were bought, blah blah blah."

If you think the refs are one sided towards the Pens, give me a breakdown of every missed call that they have missed this whole series from every game and also the amount of penalties called for each team, so we can all see the facts and numbers out on the table.

I'm not talking about game 2, I'm talking about the same damn penalty not being called against Pittsburgh in overtime that was called on Washington, and yeah, the refs probably missed it because there was no dive.

Penalties
Game 1: Washington 5, Pittsburgh 2
Game 2: Washington 7, Pittsburgh 6
Game 3: Washington 7, Pittsburgh 2
Game 4: Washington 7, Pittsburgh 4
Game 5: Washington 4, Pittsburgh 4

Most of the penalties on Washington have been roughing, which is a judgment call penalty... and then they miss the trip in overtime last night... I smell a rat.

If game 6 goes to OT, which Cap will it go off of past Varlamov in that one ?
Even the most biased of Pens fans must admit they have received more then their fair share of bounces so far in these playoffs.

Malkin does seem to go down awful easy sometimes for a big guy who is tough to knock down when he doesn't want to be.

Can't pin this one on the officials boys. Refs let them play for most of the game. I do hate to see a marginal penalty being called in OT when you put the whistles away for the whole third. You can't blame the call for the loss though. The Caps had it killed (1 second left) and the goal was a lucky bounce. Caps really have no one to blame but themselves. Lots of standing around on Cooke's goal. I counted 3 Caps around the net and not one moved or took a Pen. WTF was that ???

BTW on the Ovie - Gonchar thing. One of the broadcasters put it best yesterday when he said if Gonchar didn't try to avoid the hit he would still be playing in the series. Seeing Ovie coming with the shoulder, he moved his torso but left his leg out behind. Ovie's right leg never swung out or moved from its original stride.

Best analogy I've heard and watching it over, 100% accurate.

The Hartnell pic made me laugh. I don't understand why you guys get so upset over the Crosby pics ? Turn over the man cards if that upsets you because now you're all suspect.

So Bam based on what you said there, it was Gonchar's fault he got hurt? I find that I bit ridiculous. If he would have stood there to take the hit, good chance he goes flying into the boards on the back of his head. No player is going to stand there and take that shot at that spot on the ice. AO had plenty of time to pull up when he saw that he was not going to have a clean hit on him. I'm not saying he was intending to injur him, it just shouldn't have happened.

I don't get upset over the Crosby pics. It just gets old. I'm sure its similar to you hearing people jab at Philly having bad fans, a dirty hockey team, etc. Most of the time its all in good fun, but seeing or hearing the same stuff over and over just starts to get annoying.

I never said it was Gonchar's fault he got hurt. All I'm saying is its not Ovechkin's either. It was called a cheap shot on here and thats not the case.

As for all the Crosby bashing, I just don't like the guy. I've said before he is a creative player who could be one of the greats when its over. Would want him in Philly in a heartbeat. I just can't take some of his antics and he makes it easy for people to dislike him. It started his rookie year with the diving, sneaky stick work and crying. While he doesn't dive much anymore, he still cries a lot out there and still takes a lot of slashes at players skates and legs. I really hate the stick work. Drop the gloves or get off the ice. Don't pick your spots if you want to be called a leader and wear the C.
The two "fights" he was in this year were a disgrace and the fact the NHL looks the other way gives him that golden boy image that people resent. You can't have a different set of rules for some.
