2005-06 ALEXANDER OVECHKIN THE CUP AUTO PATCH RC 09/99 - (eBay.ca item 120408349793 end time 18-May-09 15:49:21 EDT)

Realized it was a bit fishy when the patch looked extra colorful, sure enough it was too good to be true

Already emailed the seller, it's possible he was duped into buying it from someone at a show or what have you. His reaction will determine if the finger pointing should begin or not :P

Huh.. looks like the 09/99 card has been doctored a few times? If you look at your original 2 color link, there's another 09/99 much more colorful than the original. Looks like someone tried to repatch it to throw people off the scent. Wow...

I think I'm going to fine a penguins jersey and try it with my Noah Welch The Cup ARP!!!

Right now its all white with black. It is of the penguins belly.

once i got scamed by a powerseller with 3000+ pos feedbacks for 5k
and the thing is that ebay couldnt do anything

I think this is the most famous re-patched card ever. I think this card started the website fakepatchreport.com.

Sometimes you can tell from the patch window being damaged, but not always.

Usually it takes someone with pics of the cards (like my 07/08 Cup pics). It's surprising how many of these high end cards get sold on ebay as the first sale of the card. Once a card's listed online, someone, somewhere will have saved the pic. If the card then gets repatched, any future sellers will be in trouble (unless they sell the card at a card show).

I am sure someone will see through this scam. Why would you block the card # etc. Are there 2 of the exact card and your scared someone will use your scan? why, would someone copy your pic and use it? Plus why not at least list the #/99 in your description so the buyer knows the card #.

Good points...Also, if you look at his ebay user idea he changed it within 30 days, and he has NO feedback as a seller. Looks like he just changes around and tries to sell of his fake.
