Brashear Suspended 6 Games

Washington Capitals - News: Caps' Brashear suspended for a total of six games - 04/27/2009

So 1 game for pushing (pathetic) and 5 games for his cheap shot. I think 1 is too many for the push, not sure what I think about 5! So then who's worse - Avery vs. Brashear?

Tortorella should have gotten a 6 game suspension.

brashear doesnt dress for many games anyway............but the suspension was way too much for what he did...

As a caps fan I'm definitely biased here... but I agree with the 1 game for the pre-game push. Apparently they were specifically told not to initiate contact with opposing players during warm up and he definitely skated right up and then shoved Orr, so i can't get angry at the 1 game...

5 games for a slightly late hit? I dunno... it was a bad hit but if Betts hadn't been standing there admiring his amazing dump-in... eh, its just too bad Betts got so seriously hurt. No one wants to see that.

Brashear played about 2.5 - 3 minutes a game during the playoffs here.

This is the downside to the NHL playoffs, they want it to be too clean.

I agree with the 1 game for the pregame stuff. I would say 3 games max for the hit. The hit came 2+ seconds after the puck was gone and he threw a forearm/elbow (can't tell what hit him) to Betts' head. Playoffs or regular season notwithstanding, it was a dirty play and I think the punishment fits the crime, maybe 2 games too many though.
