Default Bye Bye Brown

Well if you saw the hit he layed on Hudler, you know as well as I, you can consider him gone for probly as much as Brashear got (6 games). What a stupid stupid play and penalty to take. And that hit might actually have been worse than Brashears since Brown made sure both his elbows went straight to Hudlers head. And DAMN it hurt just watching it.

But seriously, I am all for physical play anytime in hockey (regular season or playoffs). But Hudler was without the puck for a good amount of seconds and his head completely down looking at the ice. Yet, brown who probly weighs close to 75 plus pounds more and is about 5 inches taller goes after the smallest guy on the team. GET SOME BALLS BROWN and go after Ericcson instead!

That is going to hurt the Ducks power kill for sure cause he is a major part of that.

Update: the ugly hit and 10 stiches later.....Happy Hudler is back on the ice....he is a beast!

CBC calls it a clean hit, they dislike Detroit
VS. says dirty

Also I don't think his head was down.

It was a vicious hit. I think it was more of a shoulder than an elbow though. Way too late and it should get him a suspension. If it wasn't so late, I would say clean hit. I missed most of the game and caught the ass end of the 3rd. Thats going to be a fun series to watch.

Vs. are about the only guys that give Detroit their due; Grapes on CBC has hated them forever, and the *rejects* that NBC trots out on a weekly basis simply wouldn't know good hockey if it jumped up and bit them on the a$$. My young son has even picked up on this, asking why all the NHL playoff commercials show the Pens scoring goals on Detroit, with a few brief shots of Hank and Nick toting THE CUP spliced in!

Ducks coach Randy Carlyle said the hit wasn’t dirty.

“Physical conduct is allowed,” Carlyle said. “We timed the hit. From the time he passed the puck to the time Mike Brown made contact with him, not a second went off the clock.

“He didn’t hit him with his elbow. He hit him with his shoulder. Hudler was admiring his pass.”
tell me if not even a second went by, how does one admire a pass in 1/2 a second

ahh BS, plain and simple. Anyone that says that was a legit hit is crazy! Head may be coming up and looking the other way a bit, but either way....the pass was made (MORE THAN A SECOND before the hit) and Brown made sure his shoulder was directly to the head of Hudler. If this is a clean hit than Brashear's hit was a beautiful well planned/never late hit! I guess if it was a clean hit than the refs made a horrible call in giving him a major penalty for it????? I guess they must have seen something completely different than the league.

If Corey Perry's blatant elbow on Cheechoo didn't get a suspension, no way should this shoulder. It was a bit late but not an elbow. He got 5 and a game. Move on boys. The NHL fines and suspends by name and reputation although Perry has thrown more then one elbow in the past so that was a head scratcher. Colin Campbell has to go after this year since he obviously has a bias towards certain teams and players. He's all over the place with his rulings. You can't have the Jordan rules in the NHL.
