Do you even watch hockey, because if you did, you would realize that was not a choke.

Oveckin didn't choke. Blame should be placed on the defense and Varlamov letting in soft goals.

Agreed, except for the fact that you said Varmalade choked. He did let in some soft goals, but the Caps defense last night was just god-awful. Mike Green, one of the leading candidates for the Norris, got booed for christ sake. Ovie was the only one who showed desperation last night, the rest of the team looked lazy and tired.

Glad to see that your knowledge of hockey is minimal and a disgrace. Learn your hockey before you start calling out one of the leading stars of the series and of the playoffs.

There is no 'I' in team, but there is a "choke" in Ovechkin...There, that's just as witty and assinine.

Shouldn't this read "You can't spell Ovechkin without C-H-O-K-E" anyways? Is this backwards or do I need to hit up English classes again?

That was going to be my first response, too.

Alex Ovechkin

Not that everyone isn't nursing something during the playoffs, but it sounds like the Caps had a lot of the injury bug. No mention of Backstrom, but he hasn't looked right since that hit in game 2. Might have had his bell rung.

Do any Ovie fans want to see Crosby kick ass now, strictly for financial reasons.

If he wins the cup I may have to list my 2005/06 SP GU Rookie auto #/5.

Or is it just a card I should hold for 20 years?

You could sell that case of the cup that you've been sitting on!

Sorry, no can do. That thing is sealed and way in the back.

That is one thing I can guarantee will never be opened.

There is no way you can pin this series loss on AO. The guy played balls out the entire series. Scuds did a great job limiting the damage, or things could have gone a completely different direction. I criticized AO for not showing up for a complete series up until this one. He showed up in a big way for this one. One of the greatest series that I have seen in a long long time. Glad its over though

Biggest hit of the series

Dummy got the title wrong... just chiming in on that one.

Someone said earlier it was bad officiating and Varlamov letting in soft goals... ehh, as a season ticket holder I'd love to blame the refs and while I do think the officiating was bad all series, that was not the reason the caps lost. Varlamov may have let in a soft one or two but if his D hadn't given up around him... the Penguins just outplayed them, HARD.

The team just didn't show up to play. All this injury crap aside, they didn't put their hearts into it for game 7. Too bad the rest of the series was so exciting, that final game was just a let down (not only as a Caps fan but just, it was a boring hockey game once Pittsburg started dominating).

Its called quicksand. I've been in that position before. You are playing your hearts out and something screwy happens and the other team gets ahead. Then before you know it they have scored again. Then you are playing catch up and you are just so shell-shocked that you never get back in the game.

You can't tell me Washington didn't show up for that game, they didn't quit, but they were up to their necks in quicksand, and the better team won the series... as much as it galls me to say it.

Go Canes!
