Flyers vs Pens Series Discussion Thread

I figured we could have a nice civil (yeah right) thread to discuss the series. But seriously, it would be nice to actually "discuss" things rather than just slinging stupid insults at each other.

It looks like everyone and their mother are predicting the Pens to win, which I'm fine with...I like being the underdog. Tonight should really set the tone for the series.

My prediction: The flyers come out flat, like they almost always do...then hopefully rebound to win it

I too am looking forward to what will hopefully be an epic series.

I feel that one reason that everyone and their mother are picking the Pens to win is the simple fact that they have been the most oft picked to win the Cup as well. If the Flyers can somehow get by the Pens in the first round I think they would be the favorites to at the very least take the East. I'm glad the Pens get the Flyers in the first round because they are the only team in the East that I think will give the Pens much trouble. That is why they play the games though.

Little crap? The guy was a good 2-3 feet offsides and scored a goal on the play. Certainly something that shouldn't be overlooked. The "refs in the pocket" comment was a bit silly, but it's a good point that it was an awful missed call.

Could you imagine if that was Crosby and the refs missed that call on him? I'm sure Flyer fans would have had no problem with that.

How many times do you see an offsides call missed a game? A good amount of times. These refs miss crap left and right.

But solt blows my mind, his team is up 3-1 and the first non call that goes against his team, you would have thought it just cost the Penguins the stanley cup in a game 7

I don't often agree with Rob, but tell the truth, if that were Crosby putting the Pens up 4-0 on a missed call as bad as that, you honestly would have been of the opinion that "meh, refs miss calls from time to time"?
