UD Mail Day? WTF? I this something new?

I got 3 of my redemptions from 08/09 Artifacts to day from Upper Deck. I opened their yellow mailer and found only 1 toploader in it. The I looked at the top of the toploader and saw that they had put 3 cards in penny sleave in a thick toploader?

Is this quality control or what?

Is this how they are cutting their costs.

I should be getting 2 more redemptions from artifacts.

All I can say is wow. If they are trying to save .10 a card by not putting it in its own toploader, then they must be hurtin'

There's a lot to criticize Upper Deck about... this just seems like nit-picking. Yeah, it would only cost them an extra 10 cents for the extra top loader or two... but it would also only cost you that too. Unless they are jamming too many cards into too small a top loader, its not like the cards are any more at risk for damage this way. I've had cards shipped like that to me from other sellers, traders, and card companies and not once did I give it a second thought. I'm actually a little surprised to hear multiple people having a problem with this. Seems like a non-issue to me, especially considering how many other things you could criticize UD for.

Its not these cards I am worried about. What if it was a Steve Mason, Steven Stamkos or any other top rookie. 3 cards placed one on top of the other in one sleeve and thick toploader isn't the way to go. I worry about what could happen to the surface of each card because of all the movement in transit. They weren't secure like 12 cards in a pack.

what the hell ? ud is too cheap on top loaders.. this cant be right.. even if its crap players.. stick several cards into one ??? very cheap and lame UD

I sent a box worth of foilless YG's (including Stamkos and Brassard) and got them all back in a patch toploader w/ no penny sleeve.
