No Claude Lemieux.
No Scott Stevens.

Still hate the Devils!

Should be a very good series, definitely not going to be the shootout we saw in R1. Definitely see some OT games on the horizon...just hope the Bryz of Game 6 is who we get.

I expect that the Devils will probably look to slow the game down and clog the neutral zone looking for turnovers from the Matt Carle's of the world. Flyers should be tough for the Devils to handle match-up wise. As long as Bryz makes the routine saves and the Flyers don't take stupid penalties I don't think the Devils can match the Flyers who's line depth gave the Pens fits.

Bam, the Flyer defense looked terrible in the last round. Do you think they can hold off Parise, Kovy, Zajac and company? Granted its not the Penguins offense, but I don't think the Devils will be giving up five goals a night either.

Won't be around to watch game one, as my golf squad has an invitational fom 1-6pm. Hoping for a great start to the series in Philadelphia today!

I think so. First off the Devils offense is nowhere near as potent as the Pens. Second, Kovy is clearly playing hurt. Judging by his movement (and some rumblings) it seems pretty obvious that he has some sort of groin injury. He just doesn't look like himself. Finally, the D is coming into their own, so to speak, with the addition of Gustaffson and now the return of Grosmannnn.

The only wild card in my book is Ilya.

If the Flyers stay out of the box, Bryz doesn't give up any soft goals and the forwards backcheck hard, I don't see how the Devils can match up line for line 5 on 5. Let's not forget, they held Crosby pointless in games 5 and 6 and that was without Grossman who has been their best defensemen since they acquired him.

I think Grossman is back today and possibly Mez at some point. No team likes long layoffs although this one helped them on the injury front. May take them a period or so to get their legs going so I'll be pleasantly shocked if they look good in the first period today. Hopefully the energy in the building gets them going.
