Default I can't believe UD has stooped down to the level of Topps and Panini...
First, Topps thinks it can sucker collectors into buying manufactured bat barrel cards in 2010 Topps update baseball boxes, then Panini fools it's customers into purchasing 2011 elite black box basketball packs with manufactured nba logoman patches, and now UD has finally decided to swim in the mud.

I haven't collected much hockey since the 80's, but I tried a few packs of The Cup for the first time last weekend. Got some nice looking cards in the usual UD fashion, was pretty happy with a 1/1 black parallel as a hit in one of my packs:













Looks like Martin Brodeur, but it says Kinkid on it, did they get it wrong?






Second pack yielded a Jay bouweemeister (sp?) auto patch, but no significant rookies, horrible pack, to tell you the truth.




So I tried another pack hoping to get another decent hit and that's when I just went ballistic. I pull this Brett Hall card, and I'm thinking to myself, what a disgrace? You can't even put a real piece of memorabilia into your highest end product? What is wrong with these card companies? What the heck? I mean, I pay close to $500 for a pack of cards, and you insert this factory-made junk in your product? Are these like one every other pack or something? I mean, they can't even get the picture of "the Golden Brett" correct (unless that's him when he was young?)









For the last time, I'm done with Upper Deck. They just can't do anything right.

Maybe there is something I am missing, but that stick card says that it is authentic, it is not a manufactured patch. Also, that is Taylor Hall, not Brett Hull from what I can see. And BTW, that Hall is a pretty big hit

UD had manufactured patches and etc for a very long time...UD black, auto on manufactured patch. did you see Topps letterman bkb and football? that was the biggest joke ever....

hey high end stuff is a huge gamble and there are some horrific boxes but there are some great ones.

He said he got no significant rookies with the Bouwmeester, so he obviously knows who the good rookies are. If he knows who the good rookies are this year, then he's got to know who Taylor Hall is. Even if someone doesn't know hockey that much nobody can be that stupid to think Taylor Hall is Brett Hull and the Kinkaid card is of Brodeur. Somebody wants attention...

I believe he cracked a few boxes and cases of The Cup before. Plus he is very knowledgeable regarding this product.

first how exactly is Topps 'suckering collectors' into buying manufactured bat barrels in their Topps Update product? Only a dense moron would not know they are manufactured. Also don't get the deal with the Kinkaid card. Clearly anyone who knows hockey can just look at the image with the helmet and the face and know it isn't Brodeur.....

I thought it was just incredible to actually hit a sick card of my favorite active NHLer- how many times does that actually happen?
