Hockey Newbie Question Kinda

So i not new to the sport of Hockey ive watched it since i was little im a life long Rangers fan and im thinking about getting back into hockey collecting like i used to when i was young with my dad. My question is since the two Rangers rookies id like to collect are out of my price range. Who might be some other rookies i could maybe do a small pc of i also like the Preds so i was thinking maybe Ryan Ellis, but im open to just about anything just looking for some opinions

Do you only want to start with a rookie or are you open to starting a PC of a more experienced or retired player?

Would like to go with a rookie but wouldn't rule out a veteran player

Ryan Ellis and Austin Watson. Both great players, and both played junior here in Windsor

What are you talking about exactly? It's fun and exciting to have these big expensive rookie cards of certain "rookies", but there should be cards available for every pocketbook? Young Guns, unless it's a small handful of players, can usually be had for under $100?
