Not really familiar with this years rookies...so can some of you hockey guys help out by ranking the top 5 in your opinion. Thanks

Um, none of them have played yet? Are you fishing for what cards to look for? Only rookies from last year are in current sets, and most are not much to brag about. Krieder is about the only one. Opinions will vary.

4) Dougie Hamilton - BOS (downgraded only because D, but might supercollect him myself)

6) Chris Kreider - NYR (UD Series 1)

Glennie has struggled since leaving junior. Many have labelled him as a bust, although I think it's a little too early for that. Not having a good start to his pro career, though.

I'm not too high on Dougie Hamilton after his less-than-stellar performance at the World Juniors.

I don't think Radek Faksa is as good as you seem to think, either.

Just a rough stretch for Hamilton, Im not worried about him making the jump at all. We'll talk again about Faksa in 5 years

Mikhail Grigorienko, he went 12th overall to Buffalo. Should have gone 1st or 2nd.

I agree with Rinkwraith for the most part. If Justin Schultz makes it on the Edmonton roster though, watch out. He's the best offensive D-man I've ever seen (see stats with OKC in the AHL). I would move him in at 3 or 4 and take out Hamilton. He wont log enough time in Boston.

Chris Krieder was really good last year in the playoffs for the Rangers. Gotta be #1 in my opinion.

Im skeptical about Kreider. He scored at a 30 point pace while shooting at 17% and starting 70% of his shifts in the offensive zone last playoffs. I'll be surprised if he steps in and makes an impact, especially if he can't unseat Hagelin and is stranded on the third line of the somewhat stacked Rangers. Plus what he is doing in the AHL right now is average at best.

Look at his numbers this season. 5 goals and 7 assists in 33 games in the AMERICAN HOCKEY LEAGUE.

He's got a terrific case of the New York Effect. A few decent games and he's billed as the next big thing.

He's not going to be nearly as good as people think.

i think he does unseat Hagelin on line 2 the rangers lines will look like this imo

Gabby, Richards, Nash

Line 2
Callahan, Stepan, Kreider

Line 3
Hagelin, Boyle, Pyatt

Line 4
Asham, Halpern, Rupp

Not sure if he'll be considered a rookie but with Nash gone, Cam Atkinson has a chance to tear is up this year in Columbus.....well, as much as one could in Columbus.

Even average is stretching it. For the "Next Big Thing", one point every three games is not a good way to start. I've seen a lot of players with much better numbers than him not even get shots in the NHL. Why the Rangers would consider putting them in their top nine, I'll never understand. Unless he scores 50 points this year, then my criticism will stop.

Sorry, I really haven't kept up with hockey since last year. The lockout kinda left a bad taste in my mouth and really haven't had any desire to start watching again just yet.
