Accidently Bought an Artist Proof Rookie from 2011-12 The Cup... These Real or fake?

Its totally my fault, I didnt read the description at all, just saw Gold Cup Rookie and Tossed a Low offer at it. Luckily I only won this one, and not all the Blackhawks he had.

May be they got the uncut sheet and cut it up or it's back door.

He said in the description he had it professionally cut up.

He says he redeemed the uncut sheet from UD and then had it professionally cut (not by UD). I would call it fake since it's not a part of the actual set.

Not a fake its real. But it was not meant to be cut up from the sheet.

Yes, it was produced by UD, but unless you buy the other pieces to the sheet you don't have anything really. It would be like pulling a card, cutting it in half, and selling the individual pieces. IMO I'd call it fake since it is not a part of the set.

It's not fake but it's not real exactly either. Value-wise, it'll be slightly above fake.


Here's what PSA says:

PSA will grade virtually any card that has been hand-cut off of a panel, box, etc. (Post Cereal, Hostess, Bazooka, Strip cards, etc.) keeping the following information in mind. This service does not include traditional sheet-cut cards. PSA will not grade cards cut from sheets that can be obtained in a normal fashion. For example, PSA will not grade a 1979 O-Pee-Chee Wayne Gretzky card cut from a sheet because that card was issued in non-sheet form. On the other hand, PSA will grade a 1959 Bazooka or 1961 Post Cereal Mickey Mantle because those cards could only be obtained in one fashion - removed by hand from a box or panel.

no, it is not a proof card! PERIOD!!
it is a tampered with sheet, this seller buys sheets and cuts them up, a proof card looks different as well, he is scamming people buy lying and calling it a proof card, it is a trimmed card from a regular sheet, sometimes they sell 100 sheets, so they are not rare or special in any way, and since he trimmed them himself they are worth less than a base card from that set

The seller does this since the introduction of uncut sheet in the Cup in 08/09.He buy`s the uncut sheet for big penny`s so he`s intitle to do whatever he wants with them.

He`s also upfront about it in the description.I think its cool its an oddball item if your a player collector. The total of uncut sheet available per set are available on the UD checklist from year to year and are in fact pretty limited.

I bought one from my player, other then the fact they are pretty slim it gives you an idea how they make the front and back of the Cup cards.
