So, i'm looking to bust some products and am debating what to order...looking to stay under $1800. I'm hoping to place an order tomorrow, so I can have the products before the weekend.
This is what I originally had: 2011/12 Panini Dominion Hockey Hobby Box 2011/12 Panini Prime Hockey Hobby Box 2011/12 Panini Contenders Hockey Hobby 14-Box Case 2011/12 Upper Deck The Cup (Exquisite) Hockey Hobby Box I know I want to bust at least 1 of The Cup, since that looks like a great bust. I considered a 3 box inner of The Cup, and then maybe 1 Dominion and 1 Prime, or something along those lines. So, my question is, what would you break with roughly $1,800??

Prime: I really like it. You're looking at one biggish type of hit then another type of auto/memorabilia plus a guad jersey rookie auto and a multi jersey/patch card featuring 2 3 or 4 players. Almost all the autos are on card which is nice.
Dominion: Ive only busted 2 boxes via blowout tv. One was ok one was good. More $ but more hits. Contenders: One box and pulled a redemption for a RNH patch auto. I have seen others and most boxes are just a few so-so plain auto cards. A whole case however will guarantee some better hits. See this: First Hockey Case Break 11/12 Contenders(beat the odds) Cup: Have not personally busted this but there is the possibility of a huge hit, then again its the most expensive product out there. Blowout is pretty much sold out of everything hockey, where do you plan on ordering this from? Also, are you looking to resell or just to break and keep? P.S. if you hit any Erik Gudbranson, please let me know

I'd go either all cup, or get a couple of Cups and a couple Dominion.
Prime has lost just about all the value it once held, and Contenders is EXTREMELY hit/miss. Cup really is the way to go, but Dominion is good too. I wouldn't touch Prime or Contenders, unless you're prepared to piss away $1800. I'm not guaranteeing you'd lose money, I can't do that. I'm just saying you've got a much better chance recouping most or all of your losses (if not turning a profit) on Cup or Dominion. Plus, Cup cards just look better

Idk why prime has dropped, its a pretty great product at the price point considering what you get. Maybe I have just had luck with it.
Then again, most products you lose money on.

Although there really are only 5-6 sets (UDS1, SPX, SPA, Cup, Dominion) that hold any long term value.

Thanks for all the input guys...as much as I'd love to do Contenders, I really don't want to have to put sets together, or lost more than half the case value and add nothing to PC.
Right now I have 1, 3 box case of The Cup and 2 Boxes of Dominion in my cart. I might make some changes, but I do really love busting high-end products :-) I have a RNH /99 Patch Auto from Dominion that should show up this week, got lucky in a case break
