A year in the KHL will do him good.

So basically he's acting like a child because he doesn't get playing time. So, he wants to be the BIG FISH in the little pond...

Either that or he was afraid Hitchcock was going to eat him.

No, he's going to get more ice time and develop. The KHL is a step above the AHL, so this is actually good for his development.

Hitch will never be mistaken for a "players coach." If you don't play hard in your own end you don't play at all. Kid needs to understand the NHL isn't a run and gun league. He'll be back but if he doesn't change his attitude, it won't be in Columbus as long as Hitch is there.

I can understand the kid's point of view and in the end I hope he made a decision that will help instead of hinder his career.

Hard to give your 100% when you play 5min per game and hard to be motivated when you are treated like this when you are one of the best player of the league.

The kid need a true chance to prove what he can do. I think the one acting like a kid in this is the coach.

How is it hard to give 100% no matter your minutes ? The harder you play the more ice time you get. Its like that from pee-wee to the NHL. Hitch may have some problems with his coaching style but asking the kid to play hard in his own end isn't one of them. Hitch is a proven winner at this level, he knows what he is doing.

Plus how do you figure this kid is one of the best players in the league ?
