Default Player Paralyzed in Swiss playoff game

Just a terrible hit from behind that has made Ronny Keller (33 yr. old defensman) a paraplegic, the play occured during the Swiss National B playoffs.

There may be a criminal complaint filed against Stefan Schnyder who delivered the 'dirty' hit.

And the real scary part is this could happen any night in Pro hockey, they really have been doing a better job in calling these boarding penalties but still they are going to happen, hopefully not this result!

Oh good, another career and life ruined on an icing play.

It amazes me so many leagues have their heads that far up their asses that they don't implement no-touch icing. All of the careers it could save .

Ban him. Seriously. He wasn't even close to getting the puck so he checks him? On an icing?

I didn't even realize it was an icing situation when the hit occured, I could only watch the clip once so I missed that!!

Can't agree more on the 'no-touch' icing and hope to see that implemented down the road.

Such a damn shame. My heart goes out to the injured player, and I hope the guilty player is suspended indefinately. Or banned. Just a disgusting, beyond wreckless play.

It looks to me like Keller stopped and the other guy couldn't so he finished his check. This is awful, Keller is a paraplegic and this other kid has to live with that forever.

Time for no-touch icing, this is beyond stupid.
