Thoughts on 07-08 SP Authentic

Looking into getting a case of SP Authentic when it comes out. I've just gotten back into hockey recently and can't recall from curious browsing how this does year to year. Any thoughts from the hockey guys on how this might do as compared to the other hockey products?

I think as long as it isn't massively overproduced like it was for the 05-06 year (and I don't think it will be as it seems like they learned their lesson......but it is UD) then it should be a solid hockey product.....as UD products go. The Cup is still my favorite though

SPA is decent, you get a good chance of getting a top notch auto in every box, but the price usually shoots up pretty quickly! Get it early, and often if you like!

Trust me, I'm on the Cup bandwagon (even though I haven't bought any from previous years). I've lived vicariously by watching you guys but I'm pretty sure I'll be having my fun with it when it comes out this year.

Cup , Cup,Cup Whats a Kane patch auto gonna go for out the gate ? BIG MONEY !! Not Crosbyesq type money but higher than Malkineese money from last year.

BTW - thats one thing that really grinds my gears with SPA Hockey. Why the heck does UD not keep that format the same as football with the auto patches being the RCs ? I believe its the only product produced for multiple sports that they change the format. The FW auto RCs in hockey don't sell for anything near what the RC patches sell for in FB. I even think the Limited Patch Autos don't get the monitary respect they deserve because they are not considered true RC but parallels. Makes no sense to me at all. Does what I'm saying make sense to my fellow SP rippers ?

B-squared, I tend to agree! I don't know why SPx didn't go to the same format as football either. Its probably because UD has a monopoly on the hockey market, they probably won't change because they don't have to change. I didn't know that the Patch was a parallel either...I would consider that more of the true rookie than the regular FW. I do like those patches though!!!!

That and the FW hockey patch autos are more rare (usually #/100) than the football patches. The should be priced waaaay higher in my POV

just got back into watching hockey as well as collecting. i will be getting a case of this. from what im told this year has a nother pretty good amount of good rookies.

I wouldnt touch a case of this....this year the Autograph Patch Rookies /100 are 1 PER case....thats horrible....that Kane Autograph Patch RC /100 is going to go for a HUGE amount saying its gonna be his 2nd highest Autograph card of the year, behind the Cup...if anyone has heard of that brand

I know the auto patches were 1 per case for 05-06 and I thought it was the same for 06-07, but I'm not sure. It would be a shame to get a scrub auto patch especially it being 1 per case, but usually the regular future watch autos seem to do fairly well.

last year suprisingly thanks to the mix of 05-06 and 06-07 in the 06-07 box I got 2 Autograph Patches in 1 BOX...Kopecky from 06-07 and Ballard from 05-06....both eh players but they were some sweet patches

I didn't realize they had put the patches from 05-06 in there as well. I thought it was just from 06-07. I do like the patches from SP Hockey. The Brule patch I got looked nice.

always looks to be the nicest Rookie Patches in this product...a few years back I got a piece of the Bruin in one patch...its one of the funnest patches to collect though, but its just too hard to wast $1000-1200 on a case for 1 Auto Patch RC

Are you kidding me those FW patch/autos are 1 per case? Even in the 05/06? I'm in shock from the box of 05/06 that I just bought from blowout that had the Nystrom patch and the Crosby auto. I was very, very lucky on that one.
Now that I thought about it more. For those patches to be /100, it makes sense that they are one per case. I thought the Nystrom was a gold parrallel.

P.S. I'm itching to try some cup now. The only baseball I collect & buy is bowman chrome. The only football I collect & buy is LL, SPA, and TTT (that is my new vice). So I need something to fill my bad habit for a couple of months.
