Default Question for the Hawks fans

So I was at the Hawks game on Friday and all I can say is wow. That crowd had so little energy the building was quite most of the time. Mad House, yeah right.

Ok and now on to my question, why during the teams entrance to they play Stranglehold by Ted Nugent? I get that it's a great song, but doesn't anyone realize that Nugent is an icon in Dretroit. They hate each other so why use a song from a Detroit icon?

I would ask TheTheHam, he is the foremost expert on everything Chicago Blackhawks and Blowout's hockey expert.

Because it's Toews' favorite song, and he has a stranglehold on the rest of the league.

Ask hambone about it, he'll set you right.

This. Seriously, ask him. Anxious to see his response. They always make me chuckle.

I heard that as an infant, Toews went on a trip and flew United Airways. Apparently he was so satisfied with the trip that the Blackhawks and Bulls decided to name it the United Center, in honor of their future star's preferences when flying.

I also heard the name Chicago was suggested by Toews as a child, and the city went with the name as to not offend the future hockey hall of famer/baseball hall of famer/basketball hall of famer/football hall of famer/Nobel Prize winner/president of the world/Pope, although I can't confirm this rumor.

It was dead? haha hard to believe that I've been to many hawks games and it's never dead.

They have the best national anthem in all of sports the place goes nuts before the game even starts!

I will argue that the Ottawa Senators national anthem (Lyndon Slewidge really is one of the best) is better, but there's no denying the Hawks have a unique and awesome national anthem experience.

Surprised to hear it was dead too, but even the best buildings get dead sometimes (and the best, the ACC, is dead 95% of the time!).

Agreed. I go to 20+ games a season and the Madhouse is never quiet.

Toews actually wrote that song while he was teaching Nugent how to play guitar. it's also the song Toews was listening to when he led the raid to kill Bin Laden. #SuperToews
