Nah, don't bother. I had high hopes for it last year (actually bought cases) and it was a dud. The fossil cards are neat and they have interesting stuff this year but even those aren't worth it.

I think it might be something fun to try just for the heck of it, like only 1 box...last year I got 3 boxes and got bored with it very quick...I did manage to get some sort of dinosaur bone though

If you are looking to rip and flip, you better get it early!!! otherwise don't bother.

I'm hoping to get my case of SPA immediately......that is if it comes out at all!!!

My LCS is getting it tomorrow. Should I try a box or 2? I only opened the remaining packs from last years champs a few months ago.

id try one for the hell of it...thats what I told myself...I mean there cheap, you get some rookies, parallels and 4 hits so I say its worth it for a bust for fun break...your gonna have to be really lucky to get something great though imo, but im willing to gamble

I think it's a neat novelty product, but resale was horrible for me. I won't buy anymore than a few packs trying to hit a few rookies.

At $80 for 1 box, no. This is one where you do a whole case or nothing.

Opened a case last night that I ordered from Blowout 6 weeks ago at $975 which is just over $60/box.

Tons of parallels. Key is to list everything individually and have the player and team collectors have at it.

Hits were pretty good for me.

Crosby and Gretzky Hall of Legends jerseys
Larry Bird Mini Auto (redemption)
Tanith Belbin Champions Auto
1 of all the major rookies - Tavares, Myers, van Riemsdyk, etc.
Museum Pieces Case Hit - though you don't know which one you get, just a generic redemption card

According to my buddy, from his 1 box he pulled the 1/1 redemption for the fossil collection. I told him to sell it, but he claims to have redeemed it.

I opened a Box and pretty much got crushed! But I agree the base cards are nice, the only real pulls I had were the parallels got a Yellow/Ray Bourque, and a Red/Crosby. My (1) Auto was Jhonas Enroth, (3) Mini Jersey all White Glen Anderson, Brassard and Phaneuf. All the Rookies this year are Mini's got a Tor./Gustavsson, along with a Blue Back/Oshie (1/80), other notable Mini pulls Lemieux, R. Miller, and Roy.

I probably will buy another box to complete the Base Set, and see if I can pull one of the better auto's that are out their, I hate to lose, so I figure that I can't do much worse than the first!

Anyone have any idea on the approx print run ranges of the short printed autograph minis? (I know that they're not serial#d, just wondering if anyone has an estimate of how many are available?). Are we talking about 25-50 each of the non-hockey ones or are there more? Judging from the auction sites, many of the cards have only shown up once or twice...

Curious to this to as I pulled one and have only seen 1 on the bay so far.

I pulled a Larry Bird and it's the only one that's been up on eBay. They'll probably never release print runs but some of them are probably as low as 10 if not lower.

It seems like the demand for those auto minis is just lacking for whatever reason. Especially if you compare to the Allen & Ginter autograph SPs.

I pulled one also and the one that had sold barely cleared the price of the box (which isn't really unexpected given his standard auto is relatively obtainable, but you would think SOMEONE has to be collecting the set...)

I got lucky on my one box and pulled a Bobby Orr auto. Otherwise, I would've gotten crushed.

NO! I don't buy hockey cards to recieve dinosaur rocks. Come on think about it guys selling us duds just to make us look like dorks. Mini cards are cool if it's from 1908 sure but now they better be blinging and the RIGHT size. The Champs series of cards doesn't make me happy that Upper Deck would do such a damning thing. I buy hockey to recieve hockey that's all I have to say.
