Ah. The immaturity of Crosboi Nation who rode on Toews back, just like Sid, to another gold medal. I love it.

How does Sid fans feel that right now, Toews would be a first ballot HOF'er while Sid isn't? I mean, look at the accomplishments.

Good reply tho.

Sure, let's look at their resumes:

Sid has:

Captained an Olympic Gold Medal team
Scored the golden goal in overtime against the biggest rival on home ice
Captained a Stanley Cup team
Won a Hart
Won an Art Ross
Won a Lester B. Pearson
World Junior
4th highest PPG ever

And Toews compares...how?

You are absolutely correct. Somebody needs to tap Sid on the bench, tell him to stop daydreaming and try to get on Toews level since he is, a bit below it.

Good reply.

Crosby has Tim Hortons commercials Toews has Canadian Tire ads ... both are Canadian Icons ... Crosby and Toews are Canadian Heros ... I'd take either one in no particular order ...

yep, once again Crosby has the highlight goal of the Gold medal game!

Kunitz had a nice one too. Toews... meh. it was respectable but unremarkable.

seriously, is this kid still going on with this nonsense? LOL

yeah, Crosby asked permission in the same way a grown man asks a little kid permission. Grown man, "son, is it okay if Daddy goes to work now?" Little kid, "ok Dad." i guess it makes the child feel better, as if he had an actual say... but we all know Dad was going to work either way.

good luck with your campaign to call this a "golden goal."

once again Toews was upstaged by Crosby.

and while neither was a scoring machine, Crosby had a higher +/- rating and won a higher percentage of his face-offs. proving that he is....

I'm just here for the argument. Not a homer of either team .

all i know is that Crosby has captained the Penguins to a Stanley Cup and Team Canada to an Olympic Gold Medal.

has Jonathan Toews ever captained Team Canada to an Olympic Gold Medal? Nope.

but either way, it's now back to the NHL... where Crosby leads the league in scoring.

Not if Phil Kessel has something to say about that .

C'mon now .....That's not even close to being seriously true.... I'll start by saying that I've been a lifelong Blackhawks fan.... Worked the locker rooms at the old Stadium for a few years..... Grew up (Age 10-19 years old) hanging out at the Stadium and watching every home game.... Became friends and met some of the greatest players to ever wear skates in the NHL.... That being said, Toews is one of the best leaders of a team that I've ever seen.... There are many things that he has done to keep this team focused and cohesive that most of the fans will never hear about.... Is he the flashy goal scorer that's going to be on Sports Center highlights every night ??? No way !!! To compare him with Crosby isn't fair to either player.... They are two totally different players and leaders for their respected teams..... Each guys way of leading seems to work for their team.... If you ask me which I would honestly take first if I were starting a new franchise, I'd probably take Toews... That's a little "Homer" by me I'm sure.... But I know what I'm getting with him each and every night..... I love the fact that he's a fantastic two way player..... Does he get over shadowed by Kane and even Hossa as the flashy goal scorer on the team, YES !!! But to me, that is another reason why I love him as a player.... He is humble enough to know others will have the spotlight as long as it's best for the TEAM ...... I've seen Crosby play a couple times and he is an AMAZING hockey player with scoring skills that have only come through the NHL one a decade or so..... As a hockey fan I'm just glad that any given night, I can turn on my TV and enjoy NHL hockey.... It's a great time to be a fan of the NHL !!!!

I heard that Crosby pays up for all the deals he agrees to make. I'm not sure if Toews does, though

well, a month ago we found out what would happen if the Pens played the Blackhawks in some sort of sandlot pseudo-hockey game.

today we saw what happens when they play an actual NHL game: Pens 4 - Blackhawks 1

how did their respective Captains do: Crosby 2 goals... Toews 0 points

let the excuses flow!

what's that you say... Toews was injured?! yeah, cause the Pens wouldn't know anything about players getting injured. of course Toews didn't do much in the 2 periods he played either. luckily, the Chicago staff said his injury does not appear to be serious... so maybe he just thought it best to sit the 3rd period out since it wasn't snowing.

this is the first, and only, non-snow storm NHL game with Crosby v Toews... and the proof is in the net and on the scoreboard.

i hope Toews is ok... don't want to see anyone get seriously injured.

end of debate, time to retire this thread.

Full expected to see more "Brooks Orpik cheap shot" posts here and how he should be suspended for the remainder of the season due to a cheap hit on the "best" player in hockey....
