Here's my take

451 Filip Forsberg- One of the Best In The Class
452 Dylan McIlrath- New York's Wild Man Will Have an Avery-like following
453 Michael Bournival
454 Michael Sgarbossa
455 Martin Marincin
456 Ryan Spooner
457 Mark Pysyk- The Next Tomas Vanek, except he's Canadian
458 Freddie Hamilton
459 Joacim Eriksson- The next in Vancouver's goalie factory
460 Christian Thomas
461 Reto Berra
462 Frederik Andersen
463 Mark Arcobello
464 Jon Merrill
465 Linden Vey
466 Petr Mrazek
467 Philipp Grubauer
468 Marek Mazanec
469 Elias Lindholm
470 Aleksander Barkov- Very good player already, will be a top-10 in a few years
471 Nikita Zadorov
472 Taylor Beck
473 Jack Campbell- Good prospect stuck behind Kari Lehtonen
474 Mikael Granlund- An absolute fireball on the ice, more Mike Richards and Dustin Brown than Tomas Vanek and Marian Hossa though, future captain material
475 Cody Ceci
476 Tomas Jurco
477 Brendan Gallagher- Habs prospect who already has a burger named after him
478 Jarred Tinordi
479 Josh Leivo
480 Rickard Rakell
481 Ondrej Palat
482 Ryan Strome- Islanders prospect will eventually supplant Josh Bailey at center
483 Nikita Kucherov
484 Reid Boucher
485 Martin Jones
486 John Gibson
487 Antti Raanta
488 Nick Bjugstad
489 Scott Laughton- Flyer prospect Crushing the OHL, but does that transfer to the NHL?
490 Antoine Roussel
491 Thomas Hickey- Big, mean, but slow to develop d-man
492 Tyler Johnson
493 Connor Murphy
494 Max Reinhart
495 Jordan Schroeder- An NHL prospect you want to root for, think Rudy
496 Matthew Irwin
497 Jerry DíAmigo
498 Tanner Pearson
499 Hampus Lindholm
500 Brendan Gallagher/Petr Mrazek/Aleksander Barkov

I'm sure there are some on this list that are going to be good that I haven't seen yet, don't take this as the be all end all and don't use it exclusively for investment advice, I have a stack of Pat Falloon rookies in a box still!

I think the big weakness in Series 2 is that the big Young Guns are European, and they don't sell as well as North American players do. If Upper Deck 1 is holding serve at $60 a box, this will as well.

Dissappointed at lack of other Bruins (Svedberg in particular) but don't forget Blackhawk fans will be seeking Raanta after his run earlier this season and Kings fans for Jones.

I am glad you didn't highlight what will probably be the best card in this class. I know a lot of people know of him but the real sleeper here is a goalie....

Agree with the Svedberg as he will be seeing even more action after the egg Johnson layed the other night!

Has this list actually been published/confirmed?

The only thing that will keep him from being "special" is playing in Nashville. He's big and handles the puck well. His problem is he's sort of lost in his own end. He played in the Swedish Elite League at 16. You can teach him how to play defense but you can't teach his skill.

Tomas turco. ...you left off the good list.

YG'S are worthless anyway.
Unless you like $3 cards.

I will buy all your Crosby's, Toews'. Price's, Kane's, Tavares', Mackinnon, etc for $3.

Point is, they are highly collectable and been around forever. People complete sets, player collectors, team collectors all want Young Guns. It's crazy how many there are, and they still go for good money.

I'll disagree here, as Pysyk is a defenseman. Also, he's not a very high-scoring defenseman either!

That's the thing, only the top player in each year is worth anything. All the other "good" players are pennies.

I got a mackinnon for $24...

Spa rookies are already almost worthless let alone YG'S.

In the future people are going to want to sell them and realize how over produced they are. They are basically 90's cards waiting to happen.

Demand will wane and supply will be plentiful.

I agree you can get cards cheap when the timing is right but comparing YGs to print runs of the 90s is just wrong - you only get 6 YGs in a box (12 boxes to a case so only 72 YGS in a case)

Series 1 was a great checklist And holds at $60. Series 2 has no chance after 90 days of staying afloat in my opinion.

Series 2 has been bad traditionally but starting in 10/11 they really started to up the value in boxes to make up for weak young guns checklists. This is probably the strongest Series 2 checklist we've seen in years, Barkov, Gallagher, Campbell, Forsberg, Jurco, Mrazek and a few other very solid ones as well. Mrazek will sell well, as will Jurco, Wings collectors, much like Habs and leafs collectors, tend to go hard after rookies, especially ones as touted amongst fans as Mrazek and Jurco...

I just sold two MacKinnon's for over $45 each. Just because you got a steal doesn't mean it is worth that. The fact a card that probably has 1000+ copies, with no autos or patches can get $45 is rare nowadays.

This! Young Guns are a staple, I know quite a few very casual collectors who go out of their way to put together a set of young guns and don't pay attention to cards/products other than that...

Keep an eye on these four as well, including the above mentioned Gibson, who is caught in a logjam in net in Anaheim.
