Great start for the rangers, glad to see St. Louis get involved!
To be honest I have different MLB, NBA, NHL, NFL, College football, College basketball teams in all different states that I have followed since early 90's.

So by your reasoning, if a Pens-Rangers series came down to goaltending it would be even.
The stats were used to solidify the fact the Flyers stand a better chance of winning with Mason than they do with Emery, I think most would agree with my observation.

You comparing Fleury with Lundqvist means absolutely nothing to my original statement that Mason is the better option, I guess as a Pens fan you just don't trust goaltenders in general!

Since it's just an opinion and I don't have a horse in the race, I'll ask Flyers fans the same question 'Do the Flyers stand a better chance in winning this series with Mason in goal?'

I would say that's a pretty decent season and the only one that really counts in relation to this years playoffs as it was with his current team.

And I believe he won his 2 starts against the Rangers this season.

You compared Mason's stats to Lundqvist's stats and seemed to imply that because their stats are similar the goaltending comparison in this series was close. I brought up Fleury's stats just to show that they were also comparable to Lundqvist's and Mason's, but no one in their right mind would pick Fleury over Lundqvist to start, say, a game 7. That's my stance on Mason too - not many people outside of Philly would pick Mason over Lundqvist to start a game 7. Probably not too many people in Philly either. I'll admit that Mason gives Philly a better chance to win the series than Emery does, but I don't think it's that much better. Either way, the debate will be settled soon - it looks like Mason will be good to go for game 2.

sicne when missing your number 1 goalie not a big deal?

Not saying the goaltending lost game 1 but still not having your number 1 goalie is a big deal

Meant Emery starting is not a big deal not that missing Mason isn't a big deal. Of course I'd rather have Mason but Emery did good in game 1.

BS penalty on Simmonds and a missed offside call that leads to Rangers first goal. Wonderful.

Another BS penalty that leads to second goal. That was the weakest "high stick: penalty I have ever seen, It was more of a flop.

Seeing as how it was 6-1 in game 1 it has a long way to go before it evens out.

Seeing as how his stick got tangled with another player and came down and hit the guy that should not have been called, I can see why it was but it shouldn't have been.

except for the fact that players are responsible for their stick. Unless it's the follow through of a shot attempt.
