Wings/Pens Stanley Final

Good luck to all, this is going to be a great series. I really think this was needed for the NHL. This could really help them out with basically the best talent that the NHL has to offer on the same ice. You all know I am rooting for the Wings but I do wish the Pens good luck

My thoughts are Wings in 6 (biased but hey what do you expect)

Pens in 5 with the Mule out. Pens in sixeven if hes in. (sixeven = 6 or 7, couldn't decide...its a tough call)

Agree that it will be a great series though! Best of luck to all you Wings fans out there....but not too much

The old(Wings) vs. the young(Pens).....I think the Pens in 5

Lets look at this and breakdown the matchup.
First line. Tie. Datsyuk and Zetterberg have been HOT. They will match whatever the Pens throw at them.
Red Wings Defense of course gets the not.
Golies Tie.
Experience WINGS.
So that is 3-0-2 Wings.
I had a previous pick of wings in 6, I would not be surprised if it is in 5, but it will probably be wings winning the cup away in game 6.

Pens in 7...I think that they have had tougher competition through the first three rounds, and they quickly got rid of them. I may have an east coast bias here, but I think that's what's will happen.

Unless they flop, then Wings in 6!

This is true, but still western conference. I don't get to see them much, pretty much just the playoffs.

Wings should be Eastern Conference, would make it a lot easier to watch games in our time zone

That is the problem with the NHL. Imagine the rangers vs the wings a few times a year! Those tv ratings would really help the nhl. Put the wings in the east where they belong.

Should be exciting. Every game will be fast-paced. If Fleury stays hot, the Pens could make a series of it. Regardless, I think it goes 6 games, maybe 7. One key will be how the Pens third and fourth lines perform.

Wings in 5 maybe 6 tops. The Pens and their new playoff "trap" might not work as well against the Wings. Watching the new Pens is like watching a cheap rip off of the old Devils teams. They did a nice job of shutting down the Flyers with all their scoring depth but the Wings, especially their top line, are playing at another level. Unlike Philly, the Wings don't have to worry about getting two forwards caught in deep with the guys they have playing on D so they can send more then one guy in on the forecheck and will pressure guys like Orpik, Scuderi and Gill into bad turnovers.
I think it would be much better for the ratings if the Pens let Sid, Malkin, Malone, Sykora and Hossa play run and gun against the Wings but thats not going to happen. I just hope they let em play and don't turn it into one PP chance after another. Let the players decide the outcome especially since its 4 wins to the Cup.
