For those that think that losing some of these free agents will kill the Pens, just check out their Scranton Wilkes-Barre team.....they are loaded with talent down there and they are also stocked with checking style guys like Stone, Taffe and Filowich.

solt0131....... buffalo was in the same situation two years ago, now look at them. AHL team was the best in the league and Buffalo Sabers are in the playoffs. Now there AHL team sucks and they can't make the playoffs. With so many young guys on one team they are all going to want $$$$ and salary cap isn't going to allow it, not to mention even though there is a salary cap teams still don't spend there max cause they don't have it.

Buffalo didn't have Crosby, Malkin, Fleury and Staal to build around though. Much easier to bring up role playing guys that can get confidence when you have those guys centering your top 3 lines.

Solt... how much longer are all those players under contract though... there is no way pittsburgh will be able to pay all of them the money they are going to want... especially knowing what Crosby is worth... Malkin is your typical Russian who will ask for more than he is even worth when that time comes... just enjoy those guys while they are on the same team, cause unless Crosby takes a drop in the funds they won't have the funds to pay all of them...

Bam, typical reaction from a Flyers fan. No, I was with my son, who is 17, I don't drink and I wasn't running my mouth at either of the Pens-Flyers games I attended. The point I was trying to make a week ago is that opposing fans shouldn't have to be subjected to the kind of crap we were subjected to when all we're doing is watching and supporting our team. Do you agree or disagree?

Crosby took less money so they can keep Malkin and Staal and Fleury is already locked up. They'll sign Malone and let Hossa go and probably keep Dupuis.

I agree that any fan who is in the opposing teams barn, stadium, parking lot whatever should not be harassed beyond the usual booing or ball bashing especially if there are there with their family.

What I don't agree with is how you keep up with the "typical" BS. I grew up in Philly, attended and still attend a decent amount of games and have also gone to alot of other venues and Philly is no different then MOST. You have the same drunk aholes at mostly every stadium who need to harass other fans. Go to MSG in a Flyers sweater or Yankee stadium in a Red Sox jersey and sit around a few yahoos who are drunk and get some beer muscles.

Philly gets a raw deal because if you look at it fairly there haven't been anywhere near the SERIOUS type offenses that happened in other places like Chicago, Detroit and Montreal to name a few. Flyers games are usually mild compared to the old Vet 700 level crowd at Eagles games because the Flyers have priced themselves out of most scumbags price range. Plus if your a season ticket holder and give your seats to someone for a game and they get tossed or arrested you run the risk of forfeiting your tickets because of them.

BTW - Philly gets a raw deal from media giants outside of PA like ESPN because they have nothing better to say. Philly bood Santa is probably a bigger more overblown, twisted fable then any Asope or Dickens tale. THE REAL STORY IS THE EAGLES FANS WERE PO'D AT ANOTHER IN A LONG LINE OF LOSING SEASONS AND UNTIL THE LAST COUPLE WEEKS OF THE SEASON WERE IN LINE FOR THE 1ST OVERALL PICK WHICH I BELIEVE WAS O.J. (not 100% sure)BUT THE EAGLES WON 2 OF THEIR LAST 3 MEANINGLESS GAMES AND COST THEM THE PICK SO THEY WERE BOOING EVERYTHINGTHAT DAY.

IT GETS BETTER, THE FAT GUY WHO WAS SUPPOSED TO PLAY SANTA GOT HAMMERED DURING THE GAME SO THEY HAD TO HAVE ONE OF THE PR GUYS FILL IN FOR HIM. FROM WHAT I READ HE WAS A SKINNY GUY IN A FAT SUIT THAT WAS THE WORST LOOKING SANTA IN HISTORY SO THE FANS LET HIM HAVE IT.

There you have it, the real story boys and girls. Now, if you listen to ESPN or Fox, you'd think the fans murdered Santa that day because they don't ever explain why Santa got boo'd. Since it was soooooo long ago I wonder if anyone that works there even knows the real story ? They probably do but its easier just to bash Philly. What funny is you never hear much about say, the great fans at the White Sox game who attacked and beat the first base ump in the middle of the game. Sure it was only two idiots so you shouldn't single out all White Sox fans but imagine if that happend at the Vet ?

wow ive never heard a coach whine so much in my life....I love how the Pitt coach is calling Osgood a "good actor" on a play that happened with 2 minutes left in the game when it was all over....I think they know the series is over and are just grabbing at straws for stuff to complain about

Dallas was claiming the same thing about Osgood, so if it smells like an orange and looks like an orange, it's probably an orange!!! Osgood is a diver, end of story. Ask Mike Ribeiro.

Then he belongs on a team from Ohio, because their teams have been diving over 25 years now. Actually, does anyone know the last time a team from Ohio won a championship in any sport???

College Football: OSU 2002 Pitt 1976
Baseball: Cinci 1990 Pitt 1979

Guess Ohio is doing better in these sports

Hey chief....not talking about college here partner. So it's been 1990, not too shabby then. How about the Browns and the Bengals then? Maybe the Cavs? What about the Indians? Good luck to the mistake on the lake....losers for life.

Then you should become a Steeler fan so that you can enjoy winning once in a while.

Steelers suck too...Ive learned to face it that the Browns nor the Steelers will win a SB anytime soon unless the Pats move to the NFC lol

How about Orpik just lighting people up on that shift. That may have been one of the best 5 min of hockey I've ever seen.
