hockey monthly break club

can someone direct me to a hockey monthly break club, does such a thing exist?

iluvfish2 08-29-2011 04:23 PM

Im not aware of one at the moment

maddysdaddy 08-29-2011 11:55 PM

Being as I am so new here... if there isnt one already would there be anyone interested in hosting one?

ahwahoo2006 08-30-2011 11:45 AM

I've been trying to get one going for a while. There was some interest, but not a whole lot...

BloHockeyNut 08-30-2011 07:43 PM

I would be in for sure. I haven't been on in awhile but I just got a new job so I will be more happy to get into one.

maddysdaddy 08-31-2011 08:21 AM

Even if we started with smaller numbers and make it bimonthly or quarterly.... I have one nonmember who would be interested in joining if we can get this up and running.

joryharrismsu 09-22-2011 08:48 PM

I would really be interested in this. Is anyone still wanting to do this, let's get one started.

Bamboo 09-24-2011 06:01 PM

I'm interested, can't host though due to busy schedule.

IC1USN 09-24-2011 07:38 PM

I would be interested, depending on rules and price.

Axeldog15 09-25-2011 04:35 PM

rules and pricing would be my deciding factor.

hockeycardguy 09-27-2011 04:29 PM

I'd be interested in joining as well.

ahwahoo2006 09-28-2011 11:33 AM

Are people really into the idea of a club/monthly or would people just like to see more hockey group breaks? I'm more than happy to throw up some more, but mine seem to end up not working due to either really bad timing or people just dont like me.

I was thinking of starting a Panini Certified Group Break for their November release if people are interested.

Either way would work for me. I'd be in for Certified as well.

hearseguy 09-28-2011 02:37 PM

I would be in if there was one.

i am always interested in hockey stuff, if anyone is looking for a good monthly club, PM me I am in one on another site

Tivo32 09-30-2011 03:12 PM

I'd be willing to help out and do case breaks as well if that makes it easier for some people. I've always wanted to do a case break. :P

BloHockeyNut 09-30-2011 05:04 PM

lets get this thing going. I have only done break so I can not host. But I would love to do this. Please someone get this going.

ahwahoo2006 10-01-2011 12:17 PM

Ok, I think a $75 price point for a monthly club would work pretty well. With 15 people that would be $1125 a month to work with. Additional slots could be sold to other forum members as interested.

Would people be more interested in team or hit breaks?

BloHockeyNut 10-01-2011 01:20 PM

Team Break For Sure

Team Break for sure. So 15 monthly members we all agree on the product to bust. The other 15 slots would be open to any other Blowout Member is that right. Would the teams be random by all 30 slots or do the monthly guys get first pick? Say the core 15 members put there $75.00 for the month the other 15 slots that would be open to anyone else would be cheaper or do we charge $75.00 to them also. We would them have to spend all the money and have no roll over. Or we can try $75.00 a per member with 15 members and we break low med and high end stuff, and each member get 2 teams. We would have money left over after the first break to add to the second break and so on and so forth. I would be in either way.

if it's going to be a club it needs to be a team break unless decided on differently for a specific product

and also the idea of a club is people choose their PC team or whatever team they want, and will pay each month for that team

i.e. I am in a club on another site and have the Rangers each month we break

Agreed. In typical club type breaks, the team holder usually has a specific team they hold onto. It usually works out better, meaning you pick your team=less complaints about not hitting anything. Also, it'd vary with product and year, obviously some teams have better hits depending on the year and product. I thought of doing a continuous break like this, but even if 15 or so members commit to a team price of $75, I'm not sure how many open slots would be bought. $75 for a team is kind of a lot for a non-committed person, especially if the teams left aren't the best. Just wanted to share my thoughts on this.

Tivo32 10-01-2011 02:55 PM

I've been part of breaks where there's 10 slots. You pick your first team and your randomed the other two teams. I think that works pretty well. Could work the same with 15 slots. Draft 1 team, randomed the other. Or do a 30 slot, draft every team.

IndySportsCards 10-01-2011 03:07 PM

I would be interested as I've seriously cut back my spending on new product and this would help me still crack stuff without spending ludicrous amounts on new wax.

ahwahoo2006 10-01-2011 11:36 PM

Thinking about it, I realize that a team break is the only way to do it. I think we shoot for 15 members and do 1 drafted team and 1 random team. Draft order will be random as well.

As for price, $100 would give us a little more flexibility to do higher-end stuff, but $75 makes it a little more accessible to more people, if we need help getting 15 spots filled. I don't think $50 would be enough, especially since we will need supplies to get started.

Product can either be determined by a vote or we take turns going through the list of members, with everyone getting a turn to pick a month's break.

What do you guys think?

DCN12586 10-03-2011 10:09 PM

I'm definitely in, since there's no info on Superlative yet.
