I'd be down for some slots. Not sure How many tho... If I were more confident in my pregrading I could give a definite answer. Haha.

Since you pregraded them before, any pointers?? Thanks for stepping up as host too!!

as far as pointers for your submission -

- any small, barely noticable blemish (mark, scratch, chip, slight corner issue, but very very small) - take a 1/2 point off of that sub
- for slightly larger imperfections, take a whole point... (basically not worth submitting.

- if it isn't well centered, don't bother submitting

- check the card under a bright blue light for surface imperfections, you can check edges and corners this way

- use a magnifying glass or loupe (10x minimum) on the whole card

- if submitting x-fractors, any sheet or refractor lines immediately make the surface a 9 or lower

- if an auto grade has a detrimental effect on the sell value, only submit sharp, all-on-the-card (or sticker) autos

- DO NOT HAVE "HIGH HOPES" FOR A CARD, expect the worst grade and you won't be disappointed

I'm going to be making a trip to Dallas the last week of November and am taking about 5-10 cards of my own to get graded. Would it be easier for people to send to me and and I can hand deliver everyone's cards?

If not no big deal, but thought I would offer as it would save one more shipment charge for everyone.

I also have a repeat customer discount package for $50 off the total order.

That's pretty cool, I'll consider this as well especially if it's cheaper as if I'm going to send in cards for grading they likely won't be with intent to sell afterwards since likely they will all be PC

if you're an approved host, by all means, the more we save, the better!

should you need to talk to a BGS rep for a large Submission, let me know!

I haven't hosted a group submission before, but am willing to step up and help out if it makes the most sense financially.

I think it would be a good idea to talk to BGS, I have a sales contact there I speak to for my submissions and I can call her to see what kind of a deal we can get once we know what number range we will be in for this submission.

I'd be in either way for between 3-5 cards. I'm new to the grading so I think a group submission would be helpful for us new guys. Would definitely be interested to hear what kind of rate they would offer us for a 10 day

If you was to contact your BGS rep, see if you can get quotes for 100,150,200,250 etc. and then I think it would be easier to decide as a group

Great advice.

For 2012 I had a crazy year for grades. 90% of my grades were BGS 9.5 or better through submissions

I have at least 5 cards that I'd like to submit, some of which I'm expecting aren't going to grade well (no better than 9s at least) but I'm going to be stubborn and grade them anyway, mostly so that I will have a better idea in the future of what to look out for.

Yeah that may be a waste of money, but I feel like it'll be worth it in the long run. And maybe I'll end up being surprised with a few of them

I was in VW's first submission and he did a great job, but if we can end up getting a discount for hand delivering them then that's good too.

The BGS sales rep said we would need 400 cards to qualify for special pricing.

Not sure if we are close to that. For 10 day service we would be at $11 per card + $1 per auto. I will try to get a bold of a manager at BGS and see if we might be Able to discuss a discount anyway. I will advise as soon as I can.

yeah, this^

i barely broke 200 cards on my sub and we got a better price, i think it was $10+2 and $10, but i would have to check

it's all in who you speak to @ BGS as well. a newer salesperson might not be giving out deep discounts, while a rep that has been there longer will be helping his customers out.

I'd be interested in submitting 5-10 cards for the break. Lets make it happen!
