Default eBay Question

Have just recently started selling a few cards here and there over the past couple months and have enjoyed moving things there that didn't move here.

With that said, I am looking for is advice on how I should proceed with this situation.

Buyer offers on 10 cards, I counter on 8 and accept 2. Therefore buyer should be committed to those and figure we would negotiate on the others.

Then buyer sends me a cancellation request for the two that I had accepted offers on. I decline the request as I want payment for those two as was committed when the offer was sent.

I then send out invoice for combined shipping, and receive message from buyer that says I should cancel the sales because if I don't, I won't receive my final eBay fees back.

What should I be doing at this point?

Cancel, get your fees back, and start over.

The risk you take on a npb is that he may end up paying and leave you a negative or get the cards and return them or something. They have already indicated they are prone to shady behavior. In the eBay world, the seller almost always loses so just cancel, start over and post the buyers name so we can block them. Sorry, OP.

Don't cancel, do the NPB and you will still get your fees back. He barely gets a slap on the wrist but it is the principle of the matter.

I agree with others...don't cancel, file NPB, block him, and post his ID here. The NPB does have an effect for sellers that block bidders with a certain # of NPB's. Mine is set to automatically block anyone with 2 strikes in the past 12 months. It's a non-issue at this point as my sales are all fixed price with immediate payment required, but filing the NPB may benefit others who use the block bidder function based on # of strikes.

Am I the only one one who thinks that seller kind of has some fault in this too? If they guy offered on ten cards my assumption is he wants all ten cards, not just one individually. So he would buy all ten at a fair price but not one or two at a price he doesn't like.

I don't know seems like seller could have done a little more too.

I think just cancel and move on. I get its the point but it seems like maybe both sides didn't handle it the best. I'd move on

Same. Make an offer on the whole group of ten cards.

Awesome! PMs get lost and buried. Haven't heard from you in a week and then I get a call out? Still willing to make a deal, but wouldn't you try a PM before this?

Anyways, had a wedding this weekend so wasn't around cards since Thursday. Apparently that's not good enough for you, but if you still would like to work something out I'm more than happy to try.

While I'd agree, that was never communicated on the terms and I had several offers on the same cards. I understand that the buyer would want multiple cards, but then communicate that right away. Would've been more than willing to knock a buck or two off to move 10-15 cards individually.

I did. I've had a pm sitting since 8/15. Since then, I have 30+ PMs. We were looking to make a deal, but I hadn't been around the stuff I was looking to move to him since, so I figured I would just let the PM simmer and revisit after the wedding. No communication from them since asking if we had a deal, etc until I get called out for asking an innocent eBay question.

No deal was ever made so not sure why everyone is getting bent out of shape. I guess maybe I have a different mentality, or an actual life, outside of cards.

Oh my.

And why do you have to be "around the stuff" to turn on your phone and respond to/ haggle with the buyer?

To make sure that when a deal is done, the cards are in good condition, get the other party a picture of the cards, etc.

I see you have no one on the boards that can vouch for you being able to make good on a deal, so I greatly value your opinion on the situation!

Who is getting bent out of shape? You asked the question.

I think you are mistaking the eBay buyer with Gmrson. Not the same guy.
