Default Why does it take so long to be approved on this site?

I have a friend trying to become a member here, he registered over a week ago and still does not have the ability to post messages/interact with members.

I remember it taking about 2 and a half weeks when I registered before I was able to post in the community.

Why such a long time

I'm sure some steps need to be taken to authorize emails and those things, but sheesh!

Best person to ask would be a Mod. I think it might be due to repeat offenders that are banned from the site. And log in with a new account name. And are found out again. And so on. But thier IP address is the same. Might take them a little time to make sure. I guess.

I don't have an answer but totally know what you are talking about. It took me 2 emails to get approved and it took a friend of mine about a week and a half and about 4-5 emails to finally get approved.

You can blame that on all the scammers on this site.

Maybe they don't like your friend.......

IMO, the wait period definitely cuts down on impulse scammers

i don't remember waiting at all....but that was before this site really took off. There are a lot of members now and yeah they have to watch out for known scammers trying to come back. Patience pays off though...

ISP's are checked, user names are checked, email addresses are checked. This isnt done daily to my knowledge. Its done as time allows which is probably why there are some discrepancies.
