A couple of us would like to know why jj2hawks is now banned.

This member became banned yesterday and it would be nice to know why. A couple of us have deals with this member and we are feeling a tad uneasy as he lives in Canada but wanted all of us to ship to his brother in California.

Could just be a bump issue but I'm doubting it on this one. Kinda random for someone to suddenly have banned status with noone saying anything or anything anywhere being an inclination of what is up.

ANYONE WITH AN OPEN DEAL- YOU MIGHT NOT WANT TO SEND OUT YOUR END.

Not understanding why a thread couldn't be made to alert us of this? He was wheeling and dealing quite a bit in a short time and we might can save a person or two from being scammed.

Just the same as you creating this...had you not reported it we likely wouldnt of seen it right away? I have no way of contacting everyone on the forum, but we got tipped off around 1 pm and by 4 pm we had the confirmation and banned the account.

But as you noticed with the member account status change somethings up.

Is there a way to create an email list, and when a person has been caught scamming, send a mass e-mail, just a thought?

They can just post it as a stickied announcement for a day like when there are the announcements for maintenance that show up at the top, have a mod post the thread saying XXX has been banned for scamming

Get the post office to intercept the package. If you just shipped them out, you might have a chance to get them back.

I bought a decent sized lot of cards of this guy. I know he was sending them from canada but two weeks later the cards got here and i had no problems in dealing with him. What did he do to get banned? just wondering

Your confusing an admin ability with a mod ability. The Mods really dont have full control of much.

There was talk yesterday that you can get the cards rerouted if you can get ahold of the final destination post office. Might be some info in the corbin scamming thread. If not, its postal fruad forms and the local police department.

being new , i sent out first a Joe johnson Patch auto and was hoping to receive payment after he gets it.. i believe my card has reached its destination but now that he is banned .. so im guessing i wont get paid.. ????

IMO, if the person that is buying from you using PP as the method of payment you shold not have to send first no matter how new you are to the board. The buyer has PP to protect them from being scammed.

There are no rules on here for sending first. Especially in a paying scenerio there is no reason for the seller to send first. The buyer is protected via paypal, the seller has nothing. I'm also assuming you used delivery confirmation, but since your assuming, I'm not sure. Assuming he has your info he may pay, but have a good feeling you'll need to file mail fruad charges and hope thats enough (assuming you also have his email and/or additional contact info) for them to investigate. If everyone files it might be enough for the usps system to do something.

Is this a young kid doing the scamming? My PO Box is in Rancho Santa Margarita (basiclly the same city) and Trabuco Canyon has a very high cost of living. Maybe thats why he is scamming so many people.

Whew glad I saw this, sold him some Contenders autos. He is paying by money order and I was expecting it this week. Should I still send if it comes, is there a way to fake a money order?

I work for the P.O. we see at least 10 FAKED money orders a month. Take it to your p.o. if he sends it.

Can you cancel a money order? My two concerns are either it ends up being fake OR if there's a way to send a real one and have it bounce like a check or something.

That is actually the most common form of fake money orders. Banks are fooled and accept them, it's only weeks later when they go to collect their money on them when they find out they are fake. At that point they come to you and remove the money from your account. So if you have spent it then it could put you in the red causing fees.
