Default Quick Question for your guys about a recent deal.

Anyways im not going to name the card or the trader but here are the details. I bought a card from a member on here, who does not have any location in his/her signature. I bought the card with the assumption since nothing was listed that he/she was in the united states. However after i paid for the card i was given a Canadian dc #. I was not worned ahead of time about this and had i known this i might have not purchased the card. My only question is really, do you think it should be Required for people to have their location in their signature? Just seems like a cheap way to make deals if you don't post that stuff.

Yeah I myself always just assume everyone I deal with is here in the States but the few times I realize I have to ship out of the country, I ship out of the country. Sucks I know but there's a spot under one's avatar with Location and yes, I think everyone should fill that in.

I can understand not wanting to send to a certain place, but why would you not want to buy a card being sent from Canada? If you agree to a delivered price, I don't understand what the problem is.

Curious what the big deal on the seller being from Canada is? They still have to prove delivery or you can file a claim, and from my experience it doesnt take that much longer to receive the item from our neighbors to the north.

Well i bought an item on the $27 and it took 17 days to get the card. I usually buy and sell cards quickly when i get them. To me, $200 is a lot of money to be sitting on for weeks, not knowing when the card will come. Had this seller made me aware of the location, i would have probably not dealt the deal. But whats done is done, just seeing what others thought. Card came eventually so everything is fine now.

You said the seller had dc right? So you should have some idea of how the card is moving through the system. Unless you specifically told the seller you were wanting it in a hurry, I don't see the big deal.

Just my opinion of course.

If you were the seller, and didnt know the buyer was from Canada until you went to ship then I could see a possible issue.

I think that it should be known before hand where the parties are from. From a buyer standpoint i guess id probably be mad at myself for not making sure where its coming from first. From a sellers standpoint, there is nothing more than agreeing upon a certain price only to find out it is going to cost a lot more to ship because they are outside the country.

Just as American tracking numbers don't work outside of the USA, I assume Canadian numbers dont work outside of Canada either.

I also agree with the OP. If you are selling me a card coming from Canada and I dont know up front Id prolly ask for a refund. I do not want to wait 2wks to a month or more to receive my card from out of states.

And yes you should state this up front as well.

the time frame to actually receive the card is two to three times as long

actually they do. you can punch in Canada DCs at the Canadian Post Website or the USPS Site to track.

i am in full support of this being stated up front. it's a little different if your selling and the buyer doesn't tell you but none the less should be stated.

Personally I love our 51st state (), but do wish everyone had their location in their profile. Just the country would be fine of course.

Assume=___ ___ __

If I see no location, I would ask in the past. Since I don't buy and flip any more, I really dont care if it is coming from Singapore
