Ebay user quintindc got a $2 card from me. I charge $2.50 for shipping and handling, and he hits my dsr for Shipping time and Shipping charges. Now The card was paid for on the 14th late in the day. So had to go out the next available day, the 17th because of MLK day. He gets it on the 20th, seems like speedy shipping to me. Also the ding for shipping charges gets me mad, cause it's the same thing he charges for cards.

Overreaction?

I don't think you should be mad but aware that regardless of the cost of the card (even if it's $0.99) that if you charge for shipping (even to cost) you run the risk of having your dsr's hit. Personally, that is why I don't list anything under $6 and just include free shipping on everything. It's not worth the potential hit to the dsr's to me.

But to people who have to charge shipping on low end items get screwed. Dsr ratings aren't as good as people think.

Then you need to change your selling model. I quickly realized that it is simply not worth the hassle to sell anything under $6 and having to charge shipping. The reason being that even if you charge to cost (penny sleeve, top loader, envelope, etc...) there are still people who will think it's not reasonable. I certainly agree that the rating system is flawed but with how brutal eBay can towards sellers w/ DSR's (removing top seller discounts, banning you from selling) it's just not worth it (at least imo).

I sell MANY items under $6, and charge 2.25 for shipping plus 25 per extra auction. I never have any issues on that. I have been printing shipping labels immediately no matter what day it is. I am not sure but they might be mad about that. Get it out of the house anyway. At least you can say you sent it on the 14th.
