Default Ebay Issue....I need help!

Ok so I sent a card that was in near mint to mind condition to a fella in Hawaii. I misposted the card the first time and reshipped it priority so I spent a total of $10 to ship the card to him. This is the messages we have exchanged so far.




Dear sportsstuff87,To whom it may concern,I just received the item I purchased from you, there's damage dings to the top right corner and bottom right corner on the front and dings to the top right and bottom 2 corners on the back of the card. Can I get a partial refund of $15 since this was not stated in your auction??


Hello Brandon,This obviously concerns me. When the card was shipped it was in Near mint to mind condition. Being shipped in a hard case I find it hard to believe the card was damaged via shipping. I will NOT send you a $15 refund. I will however allow you to ship the card back to me and send you a full refund once I recieve the card back. - sportsstuff87


If I do send the item back to you, are you going to reimburse me the $3 for returning the damage card back to you plus a full refund of 30.99 a total of $33.99??- insomnia808

Brandon,my address is******* You dont have to send the card back, that is your decision. I'm not selling you a $30 card for $15 dollar because you claim it to be damaged. I don't see how this is money out of your pocket when you are getting a full refund.

Am I going about doing this wrong? Its the first time iv had someone say I sent a damaged card to them. I cant wait to see the condition the card is returned in.

you look like you handled it just fine. He was just trying to pull the partial refund scam on you. In fact have him open a claim on paypal to make it official. Paypal btw has the person returning assume the shipping cost not the seller. So if you think the extra 3 bucks will save a negative then fine.

No you are handling it correctly, don't do a partial refund.

Once you get the card back, block the person and re-list.

What is the ebay ID as I (and many others here) like to block the partial refund crowd?

This sounds very similar to someone I had to deal with about 6 months ago. I will have to go back and check my email when I get home to see if this is the same person.

I had sold a Brandon Beachy Topps Chrome Auto to a guy in Hawaii, only to have them tell me it was damaged when they received it. I asked for a scan of the damage, and they told me they were already sending it back to me, so no go on the scan. I got the card back. He never took it out of the team bag or the topload for that matter. More than likely a case of buyer's remorse.

I think he is well aware he isnt responsible. I think he is also aware that not giving him $3 is going to result in negative feedback that he doesnt want.

Kenny,It's more time and money out my pocket because of me having to print out the shipping label and going to the post office to send this damaged item back to you. The card is worth $15 not $30. I'll accept a partial refund of $11 and we call it even.

Once you issue him a full refund there is nothing he can do about getting the extra $3 from you, only thing he could do is leave a negative.

Anyways, about the statement I quoted, a lot of times you are going to get the card back in just the condition you mailed it out like. I have had this happen often. The buyer will get the card and have buyers remorse. Lets just hope this is the case here.

just have him open a case with paypal as I originally posted. He will then ask for a partial there to where you denied and they will tell him to send it back at his expense

If he will not open a claim then he is just trying you on. Really nothing more to be said and done

btw if you check feedback he has left he has left negative for "damage" so just do the paypal route and be done with the headache

For you he needs to go through ebay. This not only keeps things on the up and up, but also will get you your final fee values back.

Just as i suspected got the card back and all 4 corners have been pushed in, avoid this d bag people. Couldnt be more mad right now.

Figured id show what i got back compared to what i sent.



The one on the left is what i sent the one on the right is what i got back. The marks on the case are from the hard screw down it was shipped in.
