Default Few eBay problems with members, worth blocking.

First member contacted me after he won a Ted Ginn RC from prestige for .10 with $2.00 shipping. He said if I do not lower shipping costs he would report me to ebay. Then, he said depending on my response or no response my feedback could be changed. So I reported his a$$ for feedback manipulation. Just ridiculous you want to bid on a card and then try to threaten me with feedback if i dont go less than $2.00 on shipping. Stupid.

Anyways the id is: parrot916

1) keep the messages so you have proof of the extortion if he leaves a neg or dings your stars. According to toolhaus the buyer has left 4 negs in the past 2 years. Not great, but I've seen a lot worse. Definitely watch and see if your stars get hit.

2) this buyer also purchased another chrome Bradford on Mar. 27th. He may have his sellers confused.

Or maybe this is a scam this member is running. Buy a refractor, file a claim, send a base back, get a refund....

...I really hate this hobby sometimes! Hope it all works out for you.

Yes, that's possible. I understood OP the first time. But I would still politely ask the buyer to confirm he has the right seller. Especially since dc shows it hasn't been delivered yet.

Everyone seems to jump straight to the "scam" route. This could very easily just be a misunderstanding. If you go into it as helpfull and courteous as possible it can help resolve unusual situations without pissing off the buyer.

If it does turn out to be a scam then you can deal with it like a scam.

I never said you didn't understand the OP...I'm just pointing out that this could very well be a thought out scam (and yet another very difficult thing for sellers to prove, IF this is indeed the case).

In all fairness you should replace "this hobby" with the word people. There are scammers everywhere.

I'm talking specifically about this hobby, and how there are new ways to scam everyday.

Dont hate the hobby. Hate eBay for making so easy for buyers to scam sellers.

you really have to be on your toes when it comes to refractors now. It is much easier when the card has a serial number but every since switching over to the 14 day money back policy, because ebay is making me, I get so many people claiming they got a base card and not a refractor, it is ridiculous.

Yea, we were discussing this in the Bkb section yesterday. Referring to the Kobe PMG up for auction. That card has to be hand delivered or picked up. All the buyer would have to do is say the card was not in the package if the seller was dumb enough to mail it and the buyer would have a refund and the card. Ouch, that would hurt.
