Default Opinions on ebayer

Hey guys, I try to stay away from drama but I need a little bit of advice.

I sold a booklet from "Hits Memorabilia" on ebay recently of Robinson Cano. It was a quad relic 1/1 booklet. The buyer clearly saw the picture, clearly saw the listing which included the maker of the product (i.e. Hits Memorabilia - not licensed) and continued to deal with me. The item sold for $157.50 shipped.

The buyer received the card yesterday and told me he was sending it back for a full refund because he just didn't like the quality of the card and it is not licensed.

I'm pissed because the guy clearly saw the answer to his concerns in the post and still went on with the deal. I call ebay to ask my options before I respond.

After speaking with them I reply to the buyer that I will not issue a refund based on his concerns considering he should have researched more or asked a question before buying. I tell him his best option is to open a case through ebay, which the guy at ebay said it would appear they would side with me.

He opens the case claiming the item is fake and not as described. I respond with proof of its authenticity and he escalates the case.

Anyone ever dealt with something like this???

If a buyer wants a refund from me I just grant it - doesn't really matter the reason it's not worth the feedback/DSR hit. My settings are to allow a refund up to 14 days.

I would issue a refund if there was protection on the card. You know what I mean, but there is no positive assertion that the card would come back in the same condition.

I think the guy just had a change of heart after buying but it frustrates me because now I lose money because of his indecisiveness and failure to ask questions.

A. You have no leg to stand on.
B. Ebay will side with him and that is used with future issues in question when they review your past history

Send him the money, dont be a dick about it, say sorry and such and move on.

Your issue reminds me right off of my last post

134 retractions

This is the alternative to buyers remorse from bid retraction, someone actually loses money

I think you should have been more clearer in your description of this card. I read the auction and you made it sound like this was a legit hit out of a legit product. The scans look the same. Im not saying you are at fault for a buyers remorse. But I can see why he wants a refund when he gets this card in the mail and its not even from a lisc product.

You talking about this card?
Hits Memoribilia Prime Booklets RIDICULOUSNESS

Honestly, when you deal in something like this - your going to have these issues. There really is no getting around it.

You have no choice but to refund the money regardless of how clear your description was or was not. All he has to do is file an "item not described" and he'll get his money back. Just accept the return, refund the money & put it up as a BIN/BO listing so people are more aware of what it is.
