Default ebay issue

First, this isn't an accusation of scamming, just a heads up about an issue.

I had a buyer, reaganruleseric, ask me last friday, if I had an update on where his card was. I explained coming from Canada to the states, and with Easter holidays, it'll take an extra couple of days, should be there in the next week or 2. Today he wrote to me and said he received the bubble mailer but there was a tear in it and the card wasn't there. I have sold literally thousands of cards online and never had this happen, I asked for a picture but he ignored the request, and I gave him refund asap. He did mention in one message something to the effect he will leave me positive feedback once he receives the refund, which he did, with no mention of any issue in the feedback.

He also did not want to purchase a replacement card in person from me which I offered as I am travelling near his town in early May.

There were a few things in the way he wrote that seemed fishy but overall I can't say he's a liar. Just putting it out there in case this happens/has happened with other sellers who he purchases from.

He most probably took you for a ride.

Ive sent over 1000 bubble mailers this year already to the US and none have been torn with cards missing.

I personally believe its the new way of getting what you want and getting a refund to boot. Most people dont fight it when its low end. Thats probably because anything high end usually is insured

I think so as well, but I mean its possible the mailer ripped. I'm just putting this out there, because without mentioning an issue in his feedback, theres no way to know for other sellers that he's done this before, should he do it again. I always insure anything over $60 now, problem, as you know, is its expensive. My cheapest insurance option to the states is just over $16.

I think Canada post charge something different at different locations lol.

I sent out 4 packages this week.

2 of them were Xpresspost Value back Guarenteed delvery to US. Cost me $23 each

2 of them were sent regular mail (small Parcel/non letter) due to weight and it cost me $7.18. If I added $500 insurance it would cost me $16.

I honestly think the only way of shipping via Canada post is

Regular mail for 1 card (By weight) @ 3.15
Reguar mail for more cards (By weight) via small parcel @ $7.18
Xpresspost USA @ $23

Thats it. I think im going to use xpresspost as my service for all cards over $100.
