Default Need Some Opinions

Got something off of ebay.

Its an oversized not fitting in the mailbox type package. It was left at my doorstep and when I opened it all up, there were 2 creases that I could line up with the packaging that tells me it was done during shipping. One crease I can deal with because its not that noticeable. The other is very noticeable.

Ive talked to the seller and it seems they want me to go through the paypal buyer protection but its a case of the damage was done because of the improper shipping.

The part Im stuck at is its still worth keeping but not at the price paid.

Thoughts?

The seller is technically responsible for proper packaging/insurance. That being said...If it was a low dollar item and I could live with it, then I personally would probably cut the seller a little slack. If it was mid-high dollar then the seller should've packaged it better/ insured it, and I wouldn't hesitate to return it for a full refund.

Show damage and ask for partial?

I told the seller that it was done during shipping and could prove it. Told them its not a case of trying to extort a partial but it wasnt worth the full price paid because of the weak shipping. Since saying that, they havent replied.

They initiated the contact because the payment wouldnt be released until I left feedback. If that were the case, I think they would stay in good contact with me.

Just looked at their negs via toolhaus and someone just left them a neg for the exact same thing so needless to say poor packaging is a habit with the seller.
