What to do?

What do you do if you purchase an item and the seller doesn't respond to your pm's or hasn't been online since the purchase?

Edit: This is a high-end deal for $300.

top1 09-01-2012 04:05 PM

sounds like a scammer!

FreeMan12406 09-01-2012 04:06 PM

Clarify purchase. You agreed to pay for it or you sent them money?

MI Rob 09-01-2012 04:07 PM

More information would help.

frostyagain 09-01-2012 04:13 PM

I've already sent: Paypal Goods

bigzig 09-01-2012 05:21 PM

How long ago was the purchase?

frostyagain 09-01-2012 05:32 PM

Last tuesday. However, he said he would ship 2-day and he hasn't responded to emails, pm's, nothing since. And no package.

lemur01 09-01-2012 05:34 PM

I would give the seller 5-7 days or so to respond. If no response, file a claim.

uberfatty 09-02-2012 01:24 AM

if the seller hasn't been online since, then give it more time. Next time they get online and ignore your PM, file a claim. Give benefit of the doubt unless they are positively ignoring your PM's.

frostyagain 09-02-2012 07:30 PM

His inbox is full. I've even found his phone number and called it. Nothing. It's like he's disappeared.

pmannings#1fan 09-02-2012 07:31 PM

Give him til the 7th & then file a claim if no mail by then.

oldgoldy97 09-02-2012 07:33 PM

Need to ask: who is it?

frostyagain 09-02-2012 07:34 PM

Just filed a dispute.

I'll say who it is when/if I have to escalate to a claim and leave a negative.

frostyagain 09-02-2012 07:36 PM

Also, should I be worried about this:

He said he needed to make a new paypal account to have the money sent to because his old bank account got billed, so he didn't want the money in the negative.

Could he (potentially) take out the $300, disconnect his bank account, and then when/if I won the claim, his account would have no money connected to it?

Paypal will have you protected no matter what he may try. They would then go after the seller.

cruiserdaddy7 09-02-2012 07:55 PM

Well if you filed a dispute you should atleast post the username. Helps others to be aware in case he comes back on another user id. Since he said he was going to ship 2-day and did not that seems to say it all. Sorry to see your having trouble.

frostyagain 09-02-2012 08:14 PM

Well, he mostly sells non-sport stuff, so anyone who buys a lot of that stuff can PM me.

BostonNut 09-02-2012 08:37 PM

Please clarify....a two day service or were you text typing for 'today?'

WTF is that? Reads like one of those Nigerian scam letters, lol.

I'm telling you, people should stay away from online trading sites. They cause all sorts of illnesses, deaths, accidents, etc.

frostyagain 09-06-2012 08:53 PM

Well, I just really don't know what to do here. I got a really good deal I wouldn't want to pass up, but this just seems really coincidental.

Also, this guy uses the same speech patterns and has the same typing issues as the other guy.
