u_want_my_cards aka WhoStoleMyBeans...it has come to this. (slightly long read)

It has come to my attention that u_want_my_cards is the same person as WhoStoleMyBeans aka Mike/Adam Tebbe. I PM’ed him multiple times, offering him the chance to come clean to BO, but he chose to continue lying and playing dumb, so I feel I have no choice but to do it myself.

This might not mean anything to you, if you are new, but if you have been here for over a year or so, it may. I know some people aren’t going to believe it and a whole lot of other won’t care, since u_want_my_cards has great feedback and has appeared to be a model member, but it deserves to be shared. I'm a firm believer that people who make mistakes can change for the better, but shouldn't be able to just make up new identities to escape what they did in the past.

To give a brief summary, Mr. Tebbe was a mod on a now defunct hobby site (in which many current BO members were a part of). He ran a series of 100’s of mystery packs (which he opened on blogtv), under the appearance of “helping out the site”, which turned out to be complete bull; they were filled with $1 auto/gu of non-prospects and offensive lineman, as well as in-person autographs (without any form of COA), which were essentially worthless. There was a huge uproar, as everyone felt completely hoodwinked. Mr. Tebbe did send out the garbage that he “pulled”, but completely dropped off the face of the earth, both over there and on Blowout. All told, he took people for well over $1,000.

On a less drastic note, he apparently had several problems running group breaks here as well: 2010 Bowman Chrome Baseball Case Break! Strasburg!

So why am I coming out with this, if he appears to have “changed” and been a model member on his new account? Well, for one, he duped a lot of people out of a lot of money. Second, people who were cheated out of money and people who I consider some of my closest friends in the hobby have unknowingly dealt with him and joined his group breaks. I know a lot of people would never, ever involve themselves with him out of principle (like myself) and many have without knowing (again, like myself). At the very least, this will be a heads up to those members.

I welcome u_want_my_cards to respond…and hopefully just come clean, as I hoped you would do in PMs. Maybe even make some form of restitution to all the people you clean screwed.

i was involved with the beans mystery pack breaks and i can say that those were some of the worst packs ever, i dare even say worse than the infamous guaranteed hit packs sold on ebay, at least there you know you are going to get crap, wsmb promised a lot of "great hits" and money in his packs, they were not great at all

And people wonder why there are so many collectors/traders who are very,very hesitant about dealing on this forum. This stuff gets old after awhile. It seems like I spend more time trying to avoid scumbags then I do enjoying the hobby. Its not fun anymore.

unfortunatly I too was apart of the wsmb fiasco and mr. tebbe is a total scumbag,thief,and liar who decieved his so called hobby friends for some $$. kudos to wilson valdez for uncovering this as with all con men and criminals you never know when they can strike..especially when you think hes a friend...if wilsons proof is indeed true then u_want_my_cards should be banished from any decent hobby community.

I was sorry to hear about this when Andrew gave me a head's up about it yesterday since I was a participant in the mystery packs and have done a few deals with u_want_my_cards. I certainly wouldn't have done those deals if I had known he was WSMB.

I'm glad Mr Tebbe has seemed to become a better member since his identity change, but as said in the OP, we can't just change our name when we screw up and try to escape the past.

If this is true.. I agree he should be banned.. but what "proof" is there? You are lobbing a lot of accusations out there.. do you actually have proof its the same person? It seems you just said what this "Mr. Tebbe" person did.. but offered no proof they are the same person on both accounts.. or that it's this apparent scum artist...

I always say be careful of what you accuse until you know for sure.

There's a boatload of proof that Brian Gray is an unethical individual yet members here swear he's a good dude and even start threads about it. Some people are just conveniently blind when money is waved in front of their noses.

Back to the topic at hand, knowing WV, there's plenty of evidence and I'm sure he confronted WSMB/uwmc with it via PM before resorting to a call out thread. WV is a stand up guy when it comes to things like this. If he's wrong (which I highly doubt based on a break I was in hosted by the member in question), WV will own it.

well 1) I would hate to be accused of something false myself so I tend to lean on the side of proof and 2) WV has already told me he has proof he will post if the person in question does not reply... so I will withhold judgment until then.

On a different note, THT is not "defunct", just transformed into a different site due to being hacked.
